Two longtime Hawthorne activists and volunteers - a retired pilot and a teacher - are facing off for the city clerk's seat in the Nov. 3 election. Norb Huber, 54, and Pat Carey, 63, hope to claim the spot being vacated by Angie English, who is running for City Council. Neither have held elective office before.
