A pillar of the St. Margaret's mission is to educate students for lives of service. Our community believes that an essential outcome of our education is that our students and graduates feel the compassion, responsibility and calling to serve others and be active and contributing citizens within their communities and the world.
At the Preschool, we plan a balance of child initiated and teacher facilitated activities as well as individual, small or whole group experiences so children can learn from the teachers, the classroom materials and from each other.
St. Margaret's Early Childhood Development Center's Outdoor Classroom is a place where children can immerse themselves in nature, hone observation skills, practice persistence and cooperation, develop academic concepts and physical skills and learn problem solving skills. The St. Margaret's Lower School, kindergarten through grade five, has a program which is traditional in nature, emphasizing the basics of reading, language arts, and mathematics while nurturing creativity and critical thinking skills. Students are instructed in self-contained classrooms with an average class size of twenty-two students.
Middle School students emerged in 21st Century Learning plan, which builds off of our curriculum mapping process. Classrooms are equipped with powerful tools and flexible arrangements to support a variety of traditional and alternative strategies.
2014-2015 St. Margaret's Middle School production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Theater at St. Margaret's is a process-oriented, experientally-based program available to students in grades 1 through 12.
St. Margaret's Football achieves 15 win season, CIF SS championship and a trip to the state championship in 2014. Through athletic competition we strive to achieve the highest degree of integrity, sportsmanship, and mutual respect as we prepare our students for lives of learning, leadership and service.
St. Margaret's Girls Volleyball received second place in league play, dominated their CIF-SS playoff matches and made it to the 2014 CIF-SS Finals. St. Margaret's offers 24 varsity sports, 18 junior varsity sports and holds  29 CIF Championships in school history.
A College Counseling Curriculum begins in grade 8 and through upper school. As a college preparatory school, 100% of St. Margaret's students enroll in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Minimum graduation course requirements exceed the curriculum expectations of the University of California and those of almost every college and university in the country.
Founded in 1979, St. Margaret's Episcopal School is the premier, independent, college-preparatory day school in Orange County serving 1,250 students in preschool through grade 12.
St. Margaret's is situated on a picturesque 22-acre campus in historic San Juan Capistrano, Calif., with dedicated campuses for each school division, modern classrooms and facilities, including a performing arts center, science and technology labs, library, athletics fields and gymnasiums.
With more than 1,600 alumni who have matriculated to colleges and universities across the country, St. Margaret's is a vital member of the San Juan Capistrano community and educational landscape of Southern California.
