Overview
St. Mary School was founded in 1845 and houses classrooms for Grades Kindergarten through 8.
St. Mary School, a fully accredited institution, follows the curriculum course of study established by the Diocesan Office of Education and approved by the Ohio Department of Education.
The curriculum consists of language arts (reading, phonics, oral and written expression, spelling, handwriting and English), math/algebra, social studies, science/health, music, physical education, computer literacy, religion, art, and foreign language introduction.
Integrated within the curriculum are both advanced and remedial studies for those students who excel or have special needs.
Students are administered the Iowa Basic Skills Tests every year.
Traditionally, students score on an average of one or more grade levels above their current grade level in most subject areas.
Holy Trinity School educates over 500 students in Preschool/Pre-K through 8th grade in the day school program, and 380 students in the PSR. Holy Trinity continues to grow with many new families moving to Avon.
To accommodate the growth of the parish, we have added new classrooms, a new gym, library, computer lab, and school offices.
We strive daily to fulfill our school's mission, which is to provide an opportunity for our students to develop their spiritual selves, academic potential, and social character by teaching as Jesus did and by spreading the Gospel message of our Lord.
The mission of Holy Trinity School is to enrich the lives of all students by developing a love for God and others in a Christian setting and by challenging each student academically while accepting and respecting individual differences.
Holy Trinity School is staffed by a qualified professional faculty deeply interested in and dedicated to the Catholic education of youth.
The faculty consists of Sisters of Notre Dame and lay teachers who are fully certified by the State of Ohio for their respective areas of instruction.
