Raleigh Day School aspires to become Wake County`s first fully recognized Waldorf school and is a Registered Initiative in the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and an Associate member in the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America, first steps in the process of becoming a certified Waldorf School.
We offer Japanese language, handwork (knitting, crochet, needlepoint, woodworking), and music (pentatonic and diatonic flute, singing, folk dancing, ukulele) as a part of our regular curriculum. Watercolor painting, beeswax modeling, and movement are incorporated into the daily and weekly curriculum.
Our active, hands-on approach; our diverse, cohesive community; our emphasis on challenge and our partnership with highly-engaged parents are all core to our beliefs.
At The Raleigh School we nurture children`s natural inclinations to inquire, explore and discover through authentic play and project-based learning experiences; encouraging children to think creatively, critically and collaboratively; developing strong academic and problem-solving skills.
We intentionally focus on social/emotional development, cultivating compassionate, caring, responsible, leaders.
