Fairhill has a forty-eight year legacy of serving students with learning differences. The goal is to help students develop academic skills, gain confidence and ultimately find success in their academic careers and beyond. Fairhill offers a strong academic program with the right combination of remediation, support and rigor. There is an emphasis on developing the whole child through various extracurricular opportunities including leadership, athletic and fine arts programs. In addition to academic support and traditional extra-curricular activities, the students need strong executive function skill training, social emotional learning integration, and creative technology platforms to support learning and engagement. These students require a school environment that includes flexible seating, action based learning, spaces that encourage collaboration, and ready access to supportive educators. The 21st century student needs educators that are well prepared to remediate, support, stretch, and guide each student toward the realization that their learning differences need not stand in the way of pursuing their dreams.

ABOUT US: Fairhill`s teachers guide individual students in "learning to learn" through a multi-sensory approach to teaching, a small student/teacher ratio, and a warm, supportive atmosphere. At Fairhill, each student is recognized as an individual with a unique pattern of strengths and weaknesses. Students are taught to maximize their strengths and to develop strategies that minimize their weaknesses. A Fairhill education is designed for the whole child, developing a firm foundation in problem-solving and critical-thinking skills that enhance emotional, social, and academic development. Fairhill offers a college preparatory, structured curriculum that maintains course/grade level requirements yet is flexible enough to adapt to individual student needs. Fairhill students have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities that are usually offered in a traditional school environment like sports, the arts, drama, music, and leadership.
