We are so grateful to have found MAGE.It has been miraculous to finally find a school that understands the needs of our gifted child. The Head of School is nothing short of a wizard with her depth of knowledge regarding the gifted population combined with her resourcefulness.

Finding a school that truly understands and nurtures gifted children feels rarer and rarer these days. With fewer resources being dedicated to gifted education, many families are left struggling to find a place where their child can be challenged, supported, and celebrated for who they are. That's why this school feels so extraordinary. From the moment we joined, it was clear that this is a community built with gifted learners in mind. The teachers not only recognize each child's unique strengths, but also create an environment where curiosity, creativity, and advanced thinking are encouraged every single day. Instead of having to "fit in" or slow down, students are given the space to thrive at their own pace and to truly be themselves. It is refreshing-and honestly a huge relief-to see a school that is committed to ensuring gifted children have the resources, opportunities, and emotional support they deserve. My son feels both challenged and understood here, and that combination is so powerful.I am deeply grateful for what this school provides. In a time when gifted education often gets overlooked, this place is proof that when schools invest in these incredible kids, the results are nothing short of inspiring.

We are so grateful to have found and been welcomed into the MAGE community. The whole family has been engaged in our childrens' education and school community. Our kids enter and leave school happy everyday. The curriculum being individualized and varied keeps everyone learning at their pace and engaged. We are very confident in the educational systems and processes in place.

My son has finally found a school that can provide the personalized curriculum he needs! At his past two schools, he was extremely bored in most subjects. For kids who love learning and need acceleration in some, if not all, areas I think MAGE is the only place in town! The director is amazing, super dedicated and so knowledgeable about what gifted kids need. MAGE is a wonderful and growing school.!

We are incredibly grateful to have found MAGE - it's been such a gift for our son who started when he was seven years old. The school is designed for maximum individualization, the teachers and leadership care deeply about every child's development and well-being (and are genuinely passionate about what they teach!), and the curriculum and environment are designed to support the whole child. I've seen my son grow leaps and bounds socially, and his confidence is night and day from before he started at MAGE. The operations are not well-oiled yet and communication could be much tighter (not surprising for a school that is only a handful of years old and investing the majority of resources in low teacher:child ratio). They also use project-based learning and have field trips nearly every Friday. As someone in the education field myself, I am really impressed by their approach. Cherry on top is that the founder and head of school is highly engaged in every child's experience and cares deeply about their development. She even sent me a recording of his gait when she noticed something slightly off with his ankle stability one day on the way to the playground. Not many school administrators are knowledgeable enough about children's physical development to notice something so specific like this, let alone the fact that she then took the time to communicate with us, connect us with a top-notch physical therapist, and even sent one of her teachers to observe his first PT session so they could then incorporate the PT's guidance into regular school offerings. It's truly a special place!

MAGE provides an extremely supportive environment for gifted children. Their social and emotional needs are just as thoroughly tended to as their academic interests.

This school provides so much support for our children. They not only tailor curriculum to meet gifted children where they are today and continue to challenge them going forward. They also help shape them as a well-rounded person. Plus my kids are excited to go to school and full of smiles when I pick them up. Grateful for this school!

My family is impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm of the faculty. The community is small but close and united. I could not find any other school could do so customized curriculum to meet my kid's academic needs.
5 9/20/2025
My child has just started his first year at MAGE and within just one week, and thanked me for enrolling him to a school after all these years of struggling to find the right fit. He tells me that he is so thankful to be in a school environment where everyone is encouraged to learn while challenging each other to do their best and without passing judgment. From academics to the enrichment programs, my child is excited to go to school daily, despite having to commute at least 1 hour each way to school.

This is a wonderful school for my two kids. The teachers provide excellent courses and create a supportive learning environment. Beyond academics, the school offers a wide variety of fun activities, engaging projects, and enriching field trips that truly enhance the students' overall experience. I appreciate how they balance strong academic programs with opportunities for growth, creativity, and exploration.

My daughter has been at MAGE for 4 years. The school provides the educational environment for students to grow at their own pace, thus making learning experience at school very positive. The head of the school is deep into gifted education and truly knows the unique needs of these children. It's a gifted school, but the teachers since day one instill into the students the importance of hardwork and perseverance.I especially like that the school has history class everyday. I find it important to provide children this general knowledge at an early age. It should be just as important as STEM.

My son absolutely loves MAGE! He wakes up every morning genuinely excited to go to school, and even asks me on the weekends when he can go back. He's completely engaged in his ELA and math classes, and it's clear how much he enjoys learning. Almost every teacher he has is not only caring but also knows how to make the classroom intellectually stimulating and fun. Honestly, our family is committed to staying in Chicago just so he can continue at this school he adores.

Midwest Academy for Gifted Education is a truly unique school. Each child receives a personalized learning plan tailored to their individual needs and strengths, with regular assessments to ensure steady progress and high-quality outcomes. Beyond academics, the school offers a wide range of enrichment opportunities-including 56 world language options, chess and Go, music ensembles, taekwondo, drama, and more. What sets the school apart is its flexibility in supporting students' outside passions: schedules can be adjusted to accommodate athletic training and competitions. The teachers are also deeply dedicated, maintaining frequent and thoughtful communication with parents.

Coming from a highly ranked public school where most teachers are great (some are horrid) but the administration is lackluster on academics (perhaps due to the rigidity of the public school system), it's refreshing to come to MAGE where not only the academics is catered towards each child, but also the physical, social, and emotional aspects of each student are diligently attended to. Even in elementary school, core subjects are split into small classes depending on the level for each child on the subject. The teachers are dedicated and passionate in their fields. Besides academics, kids have weekly field trips to all kinds of activities, like parks and farms. Outside of school, there are optional trips to connect further with other families. It's really a wonderful community, small and mighty.

Our family has been at MAGE for a few years now, and it's truly been a game-changer for our kids. The academic performance speaks for itself-our children are challenged in ways that fit their strengths, not just pushed through worksheets. They're learning at a pace that excites them, and still love school at the end of the day. The location makes it easy for us as a family, and the environment feels like a community where curiosity is celebrated. Most importantly, the Head of School is the heart and soul of this place. Her vision for modern education is inspiring-she knows how to push gifted kids forward while still letting them be kids.If you're looking for a place where gifted students can truly thrive, MAGE is the school I'd recommend without hesitation.

MAGE is the only school in the Chicago area that did not waste my child's time. We tried other private schools and top RGC CPS SEES. Our child was beyond bored. No where else did the school care about our rigorous goals as a family or my child's capabilities. It's our 5th yr here and it only continues to grow and improve. Kudos to the founder.
5 9/20/2025
Excellent school: individualized instruction, great teachers, small classes. Kids can reach their potential here.
5 9/19/2025
We investigated a lot of schools across the country with a focus on gifted education, but MAGE is the only place that truly focused on the learning and developmental differences of highly gifted kids. The school focuses on the whole child. They do a great job of grouping kids in similar age / skill level cohorts, provide customized learning plans and offer a wonderful mix of academic options (3-4 languages, robotics, etc), extracurriculars (chess, soccer, running, drama), and social activities/retreats.
5 9/13/2025
Excellent school with a tailored approach to each individual needs. Focuses on emotional development as well as academics. Small classes.Teachers really care about the students and students are happy to go to school every day!
5 9/13/2025
MAGE has been amazing for our family. In our 3rd year (grades 4 & 6), we've seen how the school tailors learning for each child and provides flexibility for gifted students with activities beyond school. The curriculum is both rigorous and well-rounded, including martial arts, music, and foreign languages. It's a place where gifted kids can truly thrive.
5 9/13/2025
A incredibly unique and highly-engaging school. They do what many private institutions can't or won't: provide gifted students with a highly-tailored, thoughtful curriculum and approach to help them reach their full potential.
5 9/13/2025
Since joining the school earlier this year, we've been extremely impressed by the commitment of the faculty and administration. They are unwavering in their mission of serving a particular group of students and children that is often overlooked.
5 9/13/2025
Our kid was bored in a generic school environment so we checked out Mage. They exceeded our expectations with their ability based education model. Every child has their strengths and weaknesses and mage identifies them to help each student become the best version of themselves. It has been only a week of school and our kid loves Mage already. Their student:teacher ratio is also the best in our school district which made choosing them over the rest an easy decision.
5 9/13/2025
MAGE has been fantastic for our elementary school aged child. Regular schools were not able to reach or handle our child. We finally feel seen and our child does too so highly recommend if you have a highly or profoundly gifted child struggling in a regular school curriculum.
5 9/13/2025
We moved our family to Chigago to give MAGE a shot and it has exceeded our expectations. Our child was struggling in a regular school where their unique needs were not being met. The teachers at MAGE have focused on getting to know our child and curate the appropriate curriculum for them to finally be challenged and grow and they are so far happier for it.

This is an excellent school. Students have differentiated personalized learning, and the teachers are amazing! I highly recommend it if you have a gifted child.
