Look no further if you have an overachiever or gifted child. I can very confidently say that none of the other schools in Chicago (and we have been at a number of so-called, top-rated public and private ones only to our major disappointment) offer any advanced curriculum or individualization if your child is way ahead of the standard curriculum. This is a unique school environment where teachers feel the responsibility and have the pride to see their child advance and be ahead. The teachers are not only knowledgeable and are resource experts, but also want the very best for each child socially. They are truly like second parents. No bullying is allowed. Families and kids are nice. Learning is mostly done at school; homework has never been extensive and yet students are all way ahead of other schools. This is the best school environment for your child's academic and personal development esp. for high schoolers.

"You want the best for your child, so do we." Several months after our daughter started Nursery last year, the school installed privacy screens with a variety of statements, including this one. I love this sentiment because it captures our experience at BISC-SL, specifically the way all the teachers have engaged with our daughter. This ethic infuses the teaching, the curriculum & the engagement with us as parents. The teachers have always met her where she is and encouraged her to embrace the next challenge, whether it be academic, social, physical, or artistic. We greatly appreciate the regular, open communication about her progress & areas for growth. While immensely appreciative of the rich academic environment, we think the school also does a tremendous job of fostering characteristics like kindness, perseverance and enquiry. As a parent, I value what we have found at BISC-SL and am beyond grateful that our daughter has such a wonderful, well-rounded educational experience. We value the diverse student body, the regular communications from the principal & executive-administrative team, and the overall sense of community.

We have been extremely happy with our experience at BISCSL. The teachers have overall been exceptional in individualizing content delivery, listening to and addressing our concerns about learning and performance and just truly caring for our children as individuals as we think they would for their own. It's an amazing diverse caring community where we feel welcome by teachers, staff, parents and students and fortunate to be a part. There are numerous activities and clubs offered in addition to the outstanding academic, language and performing arts curricula and we find our children thriving in the all-embracing school environment.

We are very happy with our experience at the British School Chicago South Loop thus far. Our children attend the primary (elementary) school. They are enjoying their academic studies, love the arts/music/physical education curriculum, and are amazed by all the after-school opportunities. They truly enjoy their teachers and classmates. The school appears to tackle difficult topics forthright, and the communication is very good. When re-enrollment time came, the kids themselves declared that they wanted to be at this school!

My daughter has been at British International School Chicago South Loop since she was 3 years old, and it has been a wonderful environment for her. I appreciate that the school philosophy is to educate and enrich my child as a complete person, so while the academics are rigorous, it is not the only part of her life at school. There are daily opportunities for arts, sports, social development, and a really wide-ranging choice in after-school activities. The learning content is thoughtfully scaffolded so that each day she has variety, and each topic gradually builds and interconnects with her other learning. The teachers are supportive and caring, and the administration is very pro-active and approachable. The children are encouraged to work cooperatively and collaboratively with each other, which is great for facilitating lasting friendships. I am very grateful to have such an amazing educational experience for my daughter.

The whole staff is outstanding. The teachers encourage our children to grow and challenge themselves while still meeting their individual needs. Everyone is very responsive, and it truly is a community. Our children learn about topics with a global, holistic perspective and are engaged in their lessons even during the COVID-19 lock-down.

As along time family at BISC-SL, I am quite pleased with the school. At the high school the curriculum is rigorous and requires children to learn to manage their time. For example: 1. Science is really 3 classes: Physics, Biology, Chemistry. 1. BISC students have been taking Computer Science since nursery & can take it through high school. At the Freshman level, capable students are able to code using Ruby, Python and move into HTML, CSS, C#. The school as an affiliation with MIT. 3. Economics/Finance is well taught (called Business). 4. Students study Spanish and French from nursery and remain dual language until high school where they can choose to continue dual in F/S, move to single language or change languages. My child has achieved speaking, reading and writing fluency in one language taught at school and two others from home. Sports are available and several of this years teams have achieved first place in their respective leagues. Several students from this school have placed first nationally in mathematics as well. 100% of students go on to college and acceptances have included CalTech, Northwestern, Univ of Chicago, U of Illinois Urbana, Univ of Michigan, NYU, USC, UCLA as well as many prestigious Universities abroad. In late elementary students begin to travel to camps and in the middle school this moves to air travel to key American cities progressing to international trips at the high school. High schoolers have traveled to China, Iceland, Tanzania and many trips include service projects. This is a sampling of the experience. Highly recommend.

I am currently a student in the middle school and love the education provided. The teachers are outstanding, they are fair and fun but also firm! The homework set is fair and fun. BISC SL also is great at awarding children for in and out of school achievements and have several award ceremonies throughout the course of the year. As for academics, I am far ahead of most of my friends in other schools in mathematics and English. Another amazing thing about my school is the opportunities available such as: Juilliard summer camp, sports teams and meets, and school trips (eg. Global Games, Atlanta, Tanzania, etc.).

As a new parent to the school, I could not be happier that my son is attending BISC - South Loop. First, the campus is, clean, new and fantastic! It is obvious that a lot of thought went into designing and constructing the building. I love that the little ones have their own "wing" with a separate entrance. My husband and I come from pretty different educational backgrounds - his more relaxed (Montessori), mine more strict. I believe that BISC is the perfect combination of both. We absolutely fell in love with the wide variety of programs, clubs and classes offered - foreign languages starting at Nursery level, collaborations with Juliard and MIT, just to name a few. There is a great emphasis on exposing the students to all subjects and areas throughout their tenure at the school. BISC is a great place to send your kid!

Best decision we've made. Impressed with ability to put into practice differentiated learning, not just say they do it. They emphasize the positive & teach children great values & social skills. Having smaller class sizes allows teachers to truly know your child's strengths & challenges. The school is diverse & the teachers really care about the students & want to be there. It t is highly academic In STEAM, but at the same time they have art, music, language, dance and PE for all grades. With this balance I feel BISC South Loop develops the whole individual-academically and socially while at the same time is warm and nurturing.

I have children in both the Middle and Primary school at the South Loop. My children really love being a part of this school community. There is always so much going on from drama productions, sport, to music through the Juilliard program, art shows and science fairs. The curriculum is robust and the teachers are incredibly talented at making learning fun and accessible to their students.

My daughter started BISCSL in middle school. She came from another private school. As soon as she started BISCSL I was able to see the great difference on her as she thrive & wanted to be at school. The quality of the education, quality of the teachers and care of the child was and is outstanding. The music program now in partnership with Julliard is brilliant and the quality can be seen and heard in any time of the day.

BISC has been home for our 3 children since they began their academic careers back in Nursery. Throughout their early years, they experienced a nurturing environment, both academically and socially. Now in Middle School, they continue to enjoy the engaging and challenging curriculum as well as many outside sport and social clubs that are offered to every individual. The teachers and staff are friendly, very accessible to both students and parents alike and instill a passion for overall learning.

My child attends kindergarten at the British School in the South Loop, and she absolutely loves it. She raves about the intelligent and caring teachers and staff, and she clearly is benefitting from her interactions with the school's diverse and dynamic student body. I share her positive impressions, and would add that the facility itself provides a clean, safe, and state-of-the-art learning environment where children can clearly thrive and avail themselves of the school's vast array of extra-curricular activities. The quality of the academic instruction is also superb; it is structured and challenging yet presented in a very warm and welcome environment. I would recommend this school, without reservations of any kind, to anyone who wishes to provide an outstanding education for their child or children.

Love Love Love!I have been in school for 7ears with my three kids. They are in middle school level, elementary level and preschool level too. I have to say school successfully make all my kids challenged and enjoy go school. I always smiles when parents I met from Italy, India, Pakistan, Basil, Switzerland, Mexico, China, British all talk about same thing. How to bring down our own academic successes to our kids in a better way. The school provided the best teachers and totally new built facilities. The school has been growing so well for the past 10 years under the best ever principle Mr Horton. If I could have rated school 10 stars, I would have done that.
