No other school in the state can match Mountaineer Montessori's academic programs. Most students perform several grades above level due to the high standards and authentic Montessori environment, which nurtures their love of learning, develops their curiosity and promotes personal achievement. Arts programs are lead by professionals from the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and Mountain Stage. Outdoor learning and physical education are emphasized, which classes at the University of Charleston pool and gymnasium. Highly recommended for families who recognize that each child has unique talents that can flourish in the proper setting. Warm, family atmosphere.

We have been here 4 years and are very pleased. The staff, at all levels, are well trained and very experienced Montessori certified teachers. There are significant programs to develop reading, writing, the sciences are incredible and there is just a way about this school, with 32 years of tradition, in making sure the children are so well educated. In addition, they have wonderful cultural and musical and artistic programs which are heads and shoulders above other schools in the community. The physical education program is excellent and the after school program is so good for working parents. The love of learning combined with a wonderful socialization program makes this school so fine.
