At the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School, our program imbues young people with a love of learning, a love of self, a love of community, and a love of Judaism. "Learning for a Lifetime" is a concept which reflects the multi-faceted, multi-layered education our students are engaged in every day. High academic standards and a rigorous dual curriculum are the foundation of our program.
Academics focus on individualized attention and accelerated learning through a rigorous project-based curriculum and low teacher-student ratio. Students move at their own pace, allowing for accelerated learning and additional support. NEMJDS stresses the importance of student engagement, cross-curricular integration and critial thinking. Technology is embedded at every grade level, honing the skills necessary for success in the future.
Jewish values are woven through every aspect of the school's program and dual curriculum, helping to foster identity development. A strong value system helps to guide students towards greater personal and academic success as ethical and moral leaders of the future.
Students are introduced to Hebrew beginning in Kindergarten through a comprehensive language experience using active, multi-sensory immersion. Second language acquisition at an early age leads to higher standardized test scores, more advanced reading skills and greater confidence.
NEMJDS provides the opportunity to be part of a highly diverse community - diversity in Jewish religious observance, affiliation, faiths (jewish and non-jewish) and nationalities. There is also significant socioeconomic and geographic diversity.
