School Notes

  • We recruit students who demonstrate qualities indicated for success-a willingness to learn, integrity, curiosity, resilience and grit-and who come from families who want a better life for their boys.
  • High-quality education is often out of reach for Latino children in the U.S. Fewer than 65 percent of Latino males in DC graduate from high school. Nationally, Latinos have the lowest college-enrollment rate of any reported demographic group in the nation: 36 percent. But not San Miguel students. With a San Miguel education, all of our graduates complete high school and the majority attend college.
  • Nearly 90 percent of our students qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Our students are also often the first in their families to speak English fluently, graduate from high school and attend college. These young men have tremendous potential, and with the right educational opportunities, they are prepared for success in high school, college and careers. That's what San Miguel School provides.
