Suburban School

Suburban School is where children can learn in a unique, natural setting and are encouraged to become independent, caring individuals. At Suburban School, we emphasize nature-based learning and experiences.
As a school, we are licensed for 166 children with ages ranging from 15 months to 5 years old during the school year and up to 10 years old in the summer.
Suburban School/Happy Acres is an inclusive environment.  We will work to support children with special needs, families with additional languages, and cultural backgrounds.
As for our staff, we employ compassionate, energized people ready to build relationships with you and your child.
The wellbeing of your child is our main priority and all staff members work to ensure that.

School Notes

  • Suburban School embodies a relaxed, comfortable learning atmosphere emphasizing our outdoor environment to enhance gross motor development. We believe a happy and successful childhood with clear expectations leads to a positive self-image. Our nature-based program is designed to be age-level appropriate, blending traditional and progressive learning styles. The school's property spans six acres to accommodate our 5 buildings, swimming pool, garden, and variety of playgrounds. We use hands-on experiences and learning centers to encourage creativity and a better understanding of concepts. Children are always encouraged to engage with the environment around them and we foster their curiosity with the living creatures (i.e. bugs, deer, snails, lizards, etc.) on our campus. All children also contribute to our gardening area where we plant fruit, vegetables, and flowers.Time is spent learning in a group setting as well as one-to-one with a teacher.
  • Suburban School exceeds State Minimum Standards, follows national accreditation (NECPA and NAEYC) guidelines, and upholds Texas Rising Star guidelines.
