- Atlas Academy began three years ago as a school that Mike and Iara Gustafson started to build for their two children. Now, in it's third year, there are over 60 students in 4 classrooms. Atlas Academy is a Montessori school, which means that we follow the Montessori approach, hire Montessir teachers, and use Montessori curriculum materials. The Montessori approach is an individualized approach to education which helps children to learn and grow at their own pace, and cultivates a love of learning.
