Corkran Preschool and Kindergarten has been proudly operating in Temple Hills, Maryland for 61 years! We have an experienced, dedicated, and diverse staff. The average length of time our staff has worked at Corkran is ten years, and some of our teachers have been here for over 30 years! Our Mission: The mission of Corkran Preschool and Kindergarten is to provide the children that attend our school with academic preparation in a caring, safe, secure, nurturing and family oriented environment. Our staff respects and loves the children unconditionally and we view education as a partnership between parents and teachers. Our emphasis is to develop activities in a warm, creative atmosphere so the children will grow physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Children will be exposed to different types of learning experiences including math, writing, and reading readiness activities as well as games, art, music and literature. We will provide opportunities to learn respect for others, develop fine and gross motor control, self-discipline, good work habits, sharing and cooperation. All of these will be taught through :Observation, Investigation, Experimentation And Hands-On Experiences. At the end of their journey here at Corkran Preschool and Kindergarten our children will be academically prepared for their next adventure in learning! We teach to Enable, Enliven and Encourage, through Open Hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors.
