About the School
- We are an urban, Catholic elementary school, which is and has been deeply rooted in the faith community of Gate of Heaven Parish in South Boston for over a century.
- Inspired and energized by our rich tradition and history, we strive to meet the spiritual, academic, physical and social needs of the people whom we serve.
- The dignity and self-worth of each individual is of utmost importance as we endeavor to integrate learning with the experience of living our Christian faith.
- We are first and foremost a Catholic school which sees its reason for being in more than academic fields.
- The teaching of Religion is seen not merely as a discipline or body of knowledge to be taught but rather as a way of life which permeates and gives value to all expressions of learning.
- We strive to develop within our students the necessary skills and knowledge so that they will become persons who have a sense of their being, identity and worth and who will commit themselves to a life of on-going learning and to be effective and contributing members of society.
- We would hope to encourage our students to witness to their faith, to use their gifts and talents in service of others and to become builders of a caring community.
