School Notes

  • Hillside Academy is a private, non-profit, Christian school (3 years- 8th grade) with a mission to foster future innovators through project-based learning. Our teachers emphasize academics, problem-solving, creativity, social skills, and faith & character development. We use STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math) to engage students in hands-on learning that prepares them for future learning and life. Our "one size does not fit all" philosophy and small class sizes allow for individualized and experiential learning where all kids can grow to their fullest potential. Students further develop their creativity, collaboration skills, communication skills, and critical thinking, preparing them to excel in a 21st-century world. Hillside`s play-based preschool program, with targeted learning objectives, gives preschoolers the start they need as they enter kindergarten. Our kindergarten and elementary curriculum builds on this foundation by engaging students in hands-on learning so that by middle school students are focused on real-life applications with the knowledge and the skills they have learned. Our middle school curriculum prepares students to excel in high school and beyond. All of our programs work to instill a love of learning! Hillside Academy was built on a faith-based foundation that still stands today. We focus on modeling and teaching about who God is, who we are called to be through the fruit of the Spirit, and how we can use our God-given abilities to show God`s love to others in our community and in our world. Regardless of beliefs, all are welcome at Hillside Academy.

Finding Hillside was life-changing for our 7th grader and our family! Our son had lost interest in school but his time at Hillside reawakened his curiosity and motivation. He enjoyed going to school each day! The teachers are dedicated and know how to challenge him. The culture of the school is supportive for all. He learned much more than just academics and graduated a wiser, more well-rounded person.

I have had two children attend Hillside and both have different personalities and learning styles. Hillside Academy goes up to 8th grade which is a great option for parents who like the idea of continuity for their children. This also affords the opportunity for the school to really know your child and help tailor their learning in core subjects. There are ample and various opportunities to be involved in the school as well

Both my boys absolutely love this school! If you live in the greater Duvall, East Redmond, East Woodinville, or Carnation area and are looking for a school where your kids will excel, this is the place! Small class sizes, teaching to the student and not necessarily the grade, teachers that are amazing can't say enough!
