Holy Rosary Elementary School is Located in Duryea, Pennsylvania, a lovely municipality nestled on the banks of the Lackawanna River midway between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, our Roman Catholic Community is comprised of a vibrant Diocesan Elementary School, with the added blessing of three unique parish churches joined under one pastor.
Together, our School community and the local parish communities strive to live out the mission of our Roman Catholic Diocese of Scranton, cooperating to proclaim the Gospel in accordance with the teaching of the Church, to celebrate the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, for the salvation of all, and to witness by grace to the Kingdom of God so as to promote a culture of life, justice and peace.” The Mission of Holy Rosary Elementary School is to educate, to nurture, and to empower all students in becoming literate, motivated, lifelong learners, who have the capability and desire to spread Gospel values in an ever challenging world.
