Lydian Academy

Our child felt that he was falling through the cracks at his previous schools. He has LOVED being at Lydian Academy. I see confidence in the way he interacts with the teachers and staff in a way that he never did at other schools. He has made great friends and enjoys hanging out in Lydian's after-school clubs; he always left school as soon as he could previously. And he has become more attentive with schoolwork. All of his teachers have made him more aware of his assignments and instilled in him the initiative to complete them. When his progress in a class started to go off track to complete the curriculum, the staff informed us in time to make the adjustments to fix it; they did not just let him coast to the end. Every teacher and staff member that we have worked with at Lydian has been at the school for years with dedication to accommodating EACH student's learning needs. I cannot say enough great things about Lydian. It has been the right school for our child.

My daughter just graduated after three years at Lydian Academy, and she had a fantastic experience. We came to the school after her freshman year because she was experiencing stomach problems that made it hard for her to regularly attend school. We thought the problem was stress, but it turned out to be an easily treatable bacteria, and by the end of her sophomore year, she was just fine medically. We considered having her return to her traditional school, but she was so much happier at Lydian, learning more and enjoying a nice circle of friends, that we decided to stay put. As a parent, I was concerned that attending an alternative school would make it more challenging for her to gain admission to a competitive college. But, as it turned out, the leadership opportunities she had and the chance to take more challenging courses than she might have otherwise been confident trying resulted in her getting into all 10 of the schools she applied to. We could not be more grateful to the leadership and faculty at Lydian Academy.
