School Notes

  • Marble Valley Academy is a private school with students from pre-school through 8th grade.  Its focus is on higher learning and higher achievement for all students. The curriculum is designed to engender critical thinking and problem solving with a strong emphasis on oral and written communication skills.  The small class size (12-18) allows an environment where students collaborate and share ideas, encouraging the development of adaptability, imagination and entrepreneurship that will set them on a path to success.  "MVA is a place that is truly preparing students for our fast-paced technical future, " says Gwen Andrus, principal of Marble Valley.  "Being in the community now 15 years, our alumni have become our best advertisements.  They are just succeeding everywhere, not just in school, but as valuable members of society."
    • We take great pride in offering the best preschool through 8th Grade educational experience in El Dorado Hills. We hold high value in low student/teacher ratios while exposing our students to an abundance of learning opportunities. Our goal for our students is to leave Marble Valley Academy extremely prepared for any college-preparatory high school experience and beyond. Our success is measurable in seeing our alumni attending prestigious Ivy League colleges, as well as many other Universities throughout the country.
    • Marble Valley Academy Mission Statement: To ensure all students uphold academic expectations through experience and the expertise of passionate educators while establishing the core values of our school family - respect, service, honesty, kindness, citizenship.

We moved to EDH for the sole purpose of our kids attending Marble Valley Academy because our kids were lost and floundering in traditional public school. Marble Valley's small class sizes, minimal homework load, nurturing environment, focus on the thrill and enjoyment of learning (instead of on passing a test or a government-driven curriculum), and desire to do everything possible to make the children feel loved and to see them succeed cannot be paralleled. The principal seeks out my daughter every day at the beginning of the day to say something positive to her so she gets the love and recognition that helps her have a successful day. The teachers will text me pictures or messages to let me know how my children are doing and to communicate any ideas they have that will help. We value MVA, for our children, above all other school choices.

Just started my two kids in the preschool and kinder programs and so far Im loving it but more importantly my kids love it!! The jump out of my car each morning before I can even really say goodbye. We''re talking a 3 and 5 year old here. That really says it all! I would recommend this school to anyone who wants their child to learn all the "stuff" but also wants them to learn to love learning!

I wanted an environment for my kids that had the best of academics while still allowing each of my children to discover how they learn in the best way possible. This is the school! Their retention is amazing. They never want to stay home and the group learning environment there is incredible. I could not be happier with this school. My highschooler was completely prepared and transitioned so easily.

I''m just another parent who tries to provide the very best for my kids and with MVS I''ve found a place where I really feel like their academic, athletic and extracurricular needs are met. Gwen, the head educator there, knows each of my three sons personally and has found a way to keep them engaged every day in learning. As a result?... My boys LOVE school and are testing better than they ever have in every subject - what more can I say.

We now have all of our children in the school after having had negative experiences with both public and other private schools. The education is first rate. What I like best is how my children feel about themselves because of the school. They look forward to going to school. They have not only gained confidence because of their academic success, but their self-esteem has grown because of the way the teachers treat them and help manage student relationships. They really care about my kids as individuals. My children have also had a chance to participate in school sports and music programs that they would not have had at larger public schools. I could not recommend the school more highly. Alan El Dorado Hills, CA
