Marvell Academy was the inspiration to build Old Hickory Academy in Jackson, Tn. which opened in 1970, after some research, the Old Hickory Fighting Generals football's team first game was played in Marvell, Ark.The founder and first President of Old Hickory Academy was born and raised on a large farm in Phillips County Arkansas. Old Hickory Academy is now the largest private school in Jackson, Tn. and the name was changed in the late 80s to the University School of Jackson after combining with EDS private school.
