At Sacred Heart Catholic School everything we do stems from our mission, as we believe our school exists to form young disciples who love the Lord their God with all their hearts, minds, and strength and their neighbor as themselves.
We work to accomplish this through our core values of prayer, knowledge, and community.
Making decisions with these values in place enable us to continually strive to create a faith filled environment where students experience the presence of the Holy Spirit, to provide opportunities that challenge each student to pursue knowledge and fulfill of their personal potential, and to respond to the needs of others through fellowship and service.
Our school family would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to you and thank you for your interest in Sacred Heart.
We look forward to sharing the benefits of a Catholic education with you and showing you what we have to offer your family.

School Notes
- School Motto: Enter to Learn... Exit to Lead
- Sacred Heart Catholic School was founded in 1930 by Father S.A. Zientek (later Monsignor) and Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament and has been providing a faith-filled, Catholic education for over 95 years in La Grange. The original parish rectory was converted to serve as the first school building until 1937 when a new school was built on the current parish property.
- The 1937 Sacred Heart School building served generations of students - many whom still hold memories dear to them. The arrival of Father Harry Mazurkiewicz in 1956 (later Monsignor) ensured that Sacred Heart Parish and School would be in good hands for years to come. In 1987, the old school was demolished and our current school building was built. Over the years, our school has undergone many changes, but the strong faith foundation and academic excellence has remained the same. We give thanks to God for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and for the many holy men and women - priests, sisters, and laypersons who have served and built up our School.
- Sacred Heart Catholic School currently serves students from Pre-K 3 through 6th grade. We offer a strong core academic program, physical education, music, and religion. Students in grades 2nd 6th have the opportunity to compete in academic events at the Private School Interscholastic Meet. Religious education is offered daily and extends into all other areas of the curriculum to instill high moral standards, nourish a cooperative attitude among students, and enhance the overall development of the whole Christian person. Students attend Mass once a week, Adoration monthly, and also assist in preparing and performing parts of the liturgy. The library is available daily and students alternate weeks between library classes and Makerspace. Band is offered for 6th grade and students are bussed to and from the La Grange ISD campus.
- Our students take the NWEA MAP Growth standardized test to monitor progress and to best meet our student's needs. Our class testing scores are consistently above the national average.
