School Notes

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)

We are passionate about students at MVCS. The idea of building a strong spiritual and academic foundationin our children`s lives is at the core of who we are at MVCS. Our motto --Christ-Centered. Student-Focused. Academically-Driven.-- is not just our tagline or slogan, but a calling that directs our actions.

A Christian school is a place where students are trained daily so that they might become who God has created them to be. In fact, by focusing on meeting the needs of the WHOLE CHILD - spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically- we are able to provide the highest quality and most transformative education possible, preparing graduates who will be difference makers in their own generation.

Here are some things you might like to know about us:
  • MVCS is a thoroughly Christian School. The truth of God`s Word is integrated into every subject area, and students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Each staff member acts as a role model by living an authentic and godly lifestyle.
  • Academic Excellence is about maximizing the God-given learning potential of every student. Caring and qualified teachers nurture the hearts and minds of their students in engaging classrooms. Small class sizes lead to an optimum learning environment.
  • 21st century education means that we are about preparing students for the world they will live and work in. We believe in an innovative and hands-on approach to learning that leads to real-world applications, deeper level thinking, and a Biblical worldview.
  • Outstanding extra-curricular programs promote a balanced education that leads students to discover their passion, interests, and talents. Opportunities to explore Art, Music, Spanish, and Technology enrich the learning experience. A fully developed PE and Athletics program allows students to compete and excel physically as they grow in character.
  • A safe campus setting provides ample space for our children to learn and play!
  • A family-friendly community adds the icing on the cake. Our students grow alongside friends in a place where like-minded values reinforce the important lessons being taught in the home.

We love our school and feel so blessed that our daughter gets to attend here! It is apparent from the first day of school that the MVCS staff cares about each student as individuals. Most of the staff know my daughter by name. Even the after care school staff care about my daughter and make an effort to get to know us as parents. MVCS has a high standard of academics which I appreciate, but they care about God and godly character first and foremost. My daughter often comes home on chapel days singing worship songs. She has grown in her relationships, knowledge, and Christ-like character during her 3 years here. I also greatly appreciate the community among parents that MVCS fosters and know that other parents are looking out for my daughter while they are on campus as well. Whenever my parents attend a function here they comment on what a great school it is, how nice the people are, how good the kids are. It's a friendly, caring, community with many invested parents. I can't recommend MVCS high enough, it has definitely made me a passionate proponent of private Christian education and its worth the financial sacrifice.

So thankful for this school! Our son started here in 7th grade, coming from a high-performing charter school in the community. The academics at MVCS are rigorous indeed, with class sizes of 15-20 students and exceptional, caring staff. It's a nurturing environment, and instills a sense of personal responsibility in each student. Teachers are fantastic - caring, creative, knowledgeable, supportive and effective. They truly care about each child and want them to succeed. What a blessing to attend and be part of this community.

We started with MVCPS when my son was in pre-K. He will be going into the 4th grade in September, and we plan to go all the way through to 8th. The quality of education is absolutely top notch. In speaking with parents of children who have moved away and now go to other schools, their kids are ahead of their new peers academically- across the board; math, science, language arts, social development, spiritual development. The school's license plate frame says "Excellence is Intentional", and it is. From Bob all the way down to the classroom volunteers, excellence is the goal. Not perfection, but excellence. Our kids work very hard and have very high expectations placed on them. Because the teachers are hand picked and outstanding, the kids believe that they can reach those goals. They know that they can do it, even if they have to stretch to get there. They're given the help and support and tools to do it, and these teachers pour their entire hearts and souls into making sure that each child succeeds. It is a Christ centered education, and His presence is felt and acknowledged in all activities, in every way possible. Our kids are taught to pray together. They are taught to seek His truth together. The older kids are paired with the younger kids to mentor and be prayer partners together with- it's one of the highlights of my son's experience at the school. He loves his prayer partner (they get a new one each year as they get older, until eventually they are the older mentor instead of the mentee) They are taught that faith is the absolute bedrock of everything else. This is a very special place- more of a really big family than a school. It's not perfect, no school is. But it's truly spectacular, and excellence really is intentional. And Christ is very much on the throne.
