School Reviews
5 My daughter has never been happier in school - both socially and academically - than she has been at Sierra Canyon. The administration is excellent, the teachers are wonderful, and the school is extremely well-run. They have found the perfect balance of a superior academic education while still focusing on the whole child. - Posted by Parent - scparent2 |
5 Sierra Canyon has been a wonderful place to grow up and learn. I`ve been here since Pre-K (when it was still called E-K) and witnessed so many changes in the school`s aesthetic and flow. The compassionate teachers, fun activities, wide range of sports, and exciting campus are the reason why we`ve stayed at Sierra Canyon year after year. - Posted by Student/Alumni - Peyton (jUMPSu1t) |
5 As a parent of two wonderful kids that have attended Sierra for many years i would never suggest anything but the best when it comes to our children. I highly highly recommend going to see the school in person . - Posted by Parent - JUCEAM |
3 Sierra Canyon is more than just a school, it is a community which grows and nurtures our kids both academically and socially/emotionally. Our children are challenged at an academically appropriate level based upon the "like-learner" groups. There is a variety of specialists (i.e., technology, music, spanish, art, etc.) which round out the academic instruction. The feeling of pride as you walk onto the campus is palpable, from the students, teachers/staff and parents alike. At its core, Sierra Canyon is a family which values, and in turn, instills in our children, a sense of community responsibility, the desire to be a person of good character and the willingness to achieve academic success. - Posted by Parent - scparent |
5 Sierra Canyon School is amazing - excellent college preparatory program, EK-12. Children are taught in small classes (9:1 student:teacher ratio) by outstanding faculty. Like learner program allows kids to develop at their own pace and they are exposed to music, art, foreign languages from early kindergarten all the way up to high school. Open door policy when it comes to parents' interaction with faculty and administration, very approachable teachers, who communicate with parents immediately and happily. Children and parents develop very personal relationships with teachers and school has a great sense of family and community. Very diverse student body. School is located in Chatsworth but there are students from all over the Valley - Sherman oaks, Woodland Hills, Calabasas, even Agoura Hills. School has bus transportation and kids can be in after school programs till 6 pm, which is wonderful for working parents. Two campuses - lower school EK-6th grade has huge park like grounds with trees, swimming pools, playgrounds, athletic fields. Upper school is just across the street but has more of "big kid" feel to it, so middle and high schoolers feel like they are truly graduated from the lower school. Lots of after school activities - enrichment programs, clubs, sports (lots of titles held by school athletics department). - Posted by Parent - mjsav |
5 We love our school! We are thrilled with our experience so far at Sierra Canyon! The faculty are so nurturing and focused on what is best for the kids. My kids (I have twins) are thriving. I would happily recommend this school. - Posted by Parent - kenda |
5 My husband and I toured 5 different schools in the Valley and found the admission process and school so welcoming and friendly at Sierra Canyon. We were accepted into 3 schools and have chosen Sierra Canyon to be our kids home. The sense of community and idea of an individualized instruction were key reasons that we chose SC. It is worth the 25 minute drive from Calabasas for us! - Posted by Parent - ajord |
