Extracurriculars are multi-grade and taught after school by teachers, creating a stronger school community. At St. Ann, we believe God has a plan for each child and calls him or her by name. This means we believe helping students develop skills both inside and outside the classroom is a key part of our responsibility as The Personal School.

St. Ann School has been serving families in East Harlem since 1926. We call ourselves The Personal School because we know every student individually, and give each child the type of instruction they need to fulfill their potential both academically and spiritually.
We use technology and small group settings to teach every student in a customized way. The core academic subjects are complimented by fine arts, performing arts, music, athletics, language, student leadership, and a wide range of after-school programs to allow each child to discover their individual talents and purpose.
St. Ann is a model school for the Archdiocese of New York and receives enhanced technological support and faculty training.

School Notes

  • MAKING EDUCATION PERSONAL
  • Blended Learning is at the core of St. Ann's commitment to personal education. We teach every child in an individual way, and challenge each student at his or her own level.  We use software and small group instruction to ensure every student is engaged in the lesson, asks questions, and fully understands concepts. Our method allows teachers to identify students' strengths and weaknesses in each Common Core standard and create custom daily lesson plans.  In 2014 St. Ann was selected as the Archdiocese of New York Manhattan Region Model School for Blended Learning.  The award recognizes St. Ann faculty and staff for commitment to personalizing education via integrating technology and new teaching methods into the classroom.  St. Ann faculty undergo rigorous professional development to enhance their daily lesson plans.  Visit our school website to learn more.

Both of our daughters attend St. Ann School. They've had great experiences so far and a strong foundation in classroooms led by Mr. Biondo, Mrs. Malig, Ms. Mullins and Mrs. Marrero. Under Mrs. Lippens, the school has made numerous enhancements, including technology upgrades and additional extra-curricular options. The school offers a warm and inviting environment for students and families, with dedicated and caring teachers.

Our community prepares students to take their place in the world, because every child has a special purpose in the eyes of God. Our mission is to help them find it. To do so, we emphasize four pillars: - Academic instruction personalized to each child; - Enrichment options that are diverse and global; - Independence and character formation; and - Openness to God. Our motto is, "At St. Ann, the A, E, I, O leads to YOU".Founded in 1926, St. Ann, The Personal School is recognized as an award-winning pioneer in personalized learning. Using data to pinpoint whether additional guidance or advanced lessons are required, every student receives individualized instruction and a customized academic plan that is updated weekly.
