School Notes

  • Westside Christian High School is a community in the Portland-area that emphasizes a Christian worldview and quality academic instruction. Westside Christian lives out its mission by providing:
  • EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATION: WCHS offers excellent college prep academics enhanced by our Concurrent College Credit Program and AP courses.WCHS students' SAT scores are consistently among the highest in the state. On average, 95% or more of each year's graduating class is college-bound. Recent WCHS graduates have attended prestigious universities such as West Point, Vanderbilt, Biola, Pepperdine, USC, Baylor, the Naval Academy, and Wheaton. 95% of WCHS teachers have a master`s degree or their teaching credentials.
  • INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP: Our staff intentionally teaches through a Christian worldview lens in all academic and extra-curricular settings. Students learn to put their faith into action through frequent service projects. Westside Christian holds a weekly chapel for a time of corporate worship, reflection, and exhortation. Westside Christian`s Focus Group program purposely places a small group of students with an adult leader to nurture in a mentor-discipleship role.
  • CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Westside Christian emphasizes leadership development, providing multiple opportunities to learn and apply these skills both inside and outside the school community. Westside Christian students are strongly encouraged to participate in one group or team extracurricular activity each year. This student participation helps promote community, allows students to try something new, develop their character, and creates an opportunity to form new friendships among their peers. Students develop a heart of compassion as they serve in their community. Students participate in a multi-year program that helps them discover their passions and gifts, culminating in a personal service-learning project in Bible class during their senior year.

I'm a senior finishing up my second semester at Westside and it has been such an awesome experience! There are tons of opportunities to get engaged in the community and I have been able to be involved with student government, worship band, soccer, track, choir and so much more during my four years here. The teachers really get to know you and many have become mentors to me. Definitely would recommend :)

Westside Christian High School has been a profound blessing to our family! Our daughter graduated from Westside in 2017 and our son is currently a junior there, so we have been in the Westside community for over six years. During this time, we have seen our children thrive in a loving environment filled with gifted teachers and administrators who have truly found their calling. Westside is very strong academically, offers abundant opportunities in athletics and their music program is award-winning! But our favorite thing about Westside is their commitment to putting their mission statement into action. If your child attends this school they will definitely be prayed for, guided with love and grace and ultimately shown the love of Christ.

I have both freshmen and a junior going here. The school has been a wonderfully nurturing place, and we feel very blessed to be part of the school community. Highly recommended!

I`m going to be a junior at WCHS in the fall and I cannot express how incredible this school and community is. I have grown so much by going here, and have made friendships that will last a lifetime. My teachers are not only mentors but friends and they are genuinely interested in me and my studies. The staff is kind and supportive and overall the community is outstanding. The sports programs are amazing and very competitive which I love. I really recommend this school!!
