School Notes
- GATE Academy is an inquiry-based school for deep, reflective thinkers - children who have a passion for knowing and understanding. Our students delight in exercising logic, spotting contradictions a mile away, and taking fantastic leaps of imagination that are as deep a need to them as sleeping and breathing. Because our students have been taught to take ownership over their education - from formatting questions and conducting research, to analyzing data and content, to being completely dialed into discussions and presentations - GATE is a school where students are wholly engaged. We are located on the beautiful St. Vincent campus in San Rafael.

School Reviews

GATE Academy has had such a positive impact on our lives. It has been incredible to see our son's social and academic evolution as he begins his fourth year at GATE Academy as an incoming 7th grader. Being surrounded by other gifted learners and with the guidance of gifted educators, GATE Academy has helped our son understand his own gifts and celebrate his intense curiosity and desire to absorb and share information. He continues to develop a greater understanding and empathy for others in their own learning and development journeys and has more appreciation now for the diversity of experiences and abilities in others from thoughtful class discussions, field trips, and other shared experiences with his peers. The GATE Academy website says, "We get gifted kids!" This is true of the faculty, the other students, and the parents, all of whom make up the close GATE community. The students are welcoming and supportive and challenge each other to reach further in their learning without being competitive. The parents and faculty understand the joys and challenges of raising gifted learners and come together to share their experiences and support each other and the students. The benefits of the close community are also seen in the many informal gatherings of students and parents outside of school, which reflect the strength of the bonds being created and nurtured at school. We are so grateful to have found GATE Academy!
