Grace Lutheran Christian School

Grace Lutheran School is preparing children in a Christ-centered education for today, tomorrow. and eternity.
The majority of our eighth grade students matericulate into private high schools or the honors programs in our local public high schools. Many students are accepted into the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
We belived that young children learn at their own pace through play in a safe, respectful environment. As children learn about the world God created, they also learn to respect themselves and others. They learn social interaction and development, which means the children, start to become respectful citizens at an early age.
Grace Lutheran offers before and after school child care for our students.

  • Covid-19 On Campus Learning - 08/07/2020 - Dear K-8 Grace Families,

Grace Lutheran is continuing with our top priority of delivering the safest and highest quality of education for the children. While waiting for our waiver ...morepermitting us to have on-campus learning, we will begin the school year with distance learning education by our high-quality staff.

We are going to have childcare available for our school families who need this during the day. Fingerprinted and CPR/First aid certified school staff will supervise children. Children will have the opportunity to accomplish distance learning school work, with no direct instruction, while in childcare. You would not be charged additional fees from the 8AM-3PM hours. Before 8AM and after 3PM, you will be charged our regular childcare rates. All the protocols and procedures for safe practices as outlined by Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will be followed.

Thank you for understanding that we are doing our absolute best to make this work for all of you.

The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5

School Notes

  • Grace Lutheran School first opened its doors in September 1958 as a part of the ministry of Grace Lutheran Church. The majority of our students continue into private high schools or the honors programs in our local public high schools. Many of our students are accepted into the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Our philosophy is that young children learn at their own pace through play in a safe, respectful environment. Grace Lutheran Preschool's play area reflects our belief that children need real materials (sand, dirt, water, and live animals) to learn about their world. As children learn about the world God created, they also learn to respect themselves and others. They learn social interaction and development, which means the children, start to become respectful citizens at an early age.

Why didn't we start our children here in the first place! Because of Covid-19 and the state of the public schools my husband and I needed to find our children a school to attend. Our neighbor recommended Grace Lutheran and what a difference in education they have received. The teachers and staff are very caring. This is also a nonprofit school.

Both of my daughters attend Grace Lutheran Christian School, and aside from all of the socializing and recess they take part in throughout the school day, they are academically ahead! They come home tired, but excited every day from all they got to do that day. Teachers are communicative, helpful, and provide plenty of individualized attention.
