My daughter has attended GMWS for more than 8 years. The quality of education offered by Green Meadow Waldorf School is exceptionally rich and balanced, from algebra and chemistry to knitting and woodworking, with an emphasis on developmentally appropriate learning approaches. In middle school, each student is expected to play an instrument as well as participate in a team sport, such as soccer, track, cross country, softball, or basketball. Students also have opportunities to experience farm-based activities, such as horse care, planting potatoes, and harvesting garlic. The teachers at GMWS are phenomenally devoted, caring, resourceful, and creative. In addition, the school offers a welcoming sense of community. Thanks in part to its beautiful, large campus with many opportunities for outdoor education and its dedicated administrative team, this school was able to provide in-person education during much of the COVID-19 pandemic. I am extremely grateful for the high quality of education and sense of community that this school has been providing to my daughter.

Green Meadows is a dream school for parents and students alike. I have never encountered a bunch of teachers who hold such an eclectic mix of knowledge and dedication to the development of their students in every way imaginable. From academics, sciences, arts, music, sports, even how to be self-sufficient. The best part is that it`s all done in a welcoming, supporting, fun, and beautiful community. Come see for yourselves.

We cannot express enough the gratitude and admiration we have for Green Meadow. By focusing on and celebrating the best parts of childhood, the Green Meadow curriculum, campus, and faculty and staff cultivate creativity, curiosity, and joy within their students. Our child has benefited year after year from the hands-on experiences and the contemplative studies the school provides to each and every student. As parents in the 21st century, it's so reassuring to know that Green Meadow remembers what it's like to be a child. Their holistic approach to educating through the years with developmentally appropriate and exceptional curricula allows children to see the world for its natural beauty and native brilliance. Because students are fully engaged in the learning process, from performances to immersive explorations (have you ever seen their notebooks!?!) they develop an autonomy, agency, and confidence to take on the future in the face of all its uncertainties. You will reconnect with the best of your youth through your own child's experience at Green Meadow. It's truly a beautiful education.

We have two children in Kindergarten and Middle School. The education is towards enriching values in the young minds to notably explore the outer world but also to keep doing self enquiry within to evolve as a better human being and love towards what you are doing. The school has a decent student-teacher ratio with highly qualified and motivated teachers. Academics, Art, Music, Sports and Artistry go hand in hand. The school is very inclusive in their approach and has a great balance between parent, teacher and the child. We are very glad to be a part of such a nurturing community!

My granddaughter joined the school and it has been amazing for her! It took her three adays to fall in love with her teacher, her class, the school--and declare--"this is my school--I'm staying!" (She came for a three day visit) We were thrilled because we think that Waldorf Schools are the best schools in the world, and Green Meadow, being one of the oldest in the US, on its amazing campus, is one of the best in this country. It has been wonderful for our family! Thank you Green Meadow.

We are a newish family to GMWS (parent-child, then Kindergarten and now 1st grade) and the education is grounded in age- and developmental-appropriate approaches and is founded with such lively, daily intention. The community aspect is phenomenal and the communication is open, the decisions transparent, and the leadership evolving.

It's simply an amazing school. Deeply rooted with solid pedagogy and amazing teachers, who their love of their profession, and their love of life translates to well grounded, motivated and exceptionally successful students. The school curriculum develop students in a well rounded and integrated manner helping students progress in all aspects of life; from STEM and english, languages, to music, to visual arts, drama, love of nature, love of learning, love of creating, critical thinking, building self confidence and self expression. For those who are not familiar with this school, I highly recommend attending an open house / walk through the grades and meet the high school students. The "products" this school nurture are truly exceptional young people. We are grateful we have the opportunity to send our kids to GM and would recommend anyone to explore this direction.

Our family found Waldorf education serendipitously, when our daughter was a toddler, and it has positively enlightened my approach to parenting and to education at large. Green Meadow delivers on the promises of a Waldorf education: to teach children to think for themselves and to cultivate a love of learning within, with a fabulous campus, myriad opportunities for arts and self-discovery and expression, and purposeful academics that strive to truly understand the facets of life. Topics are developmentally appropriate, full of wonder in the early years and wisdom in the later. I wish I had had this education as a boy and am so grateful life revealed this gift to us for our child.

Green Meadow is a very special place. My children studied a wide variety of subjects and became mathematicians, writers, actors, musicians, artists and confident speakers. Their exposure to so many things fueled their success in college. I think the education at this school is worth every penny.

My daughter is now in 4th grade and has been here since she was in Parent & Child classes at 11 months. Thanks to her education at Green Meadow, she is already an avid reader, very agile and athletic, capable in math, a skilled knitter, a beautiful singer, and is learning German, French, and viola. The teachers are dedicated and the campus is beautiful. There's real community here, and the graduates are well-rounded people.

I cannot say enough good things about this school...it is a very special place. It is our community, our second home. My children learn in an interdisciplinary way that incorporates academics, art, music, multiple languages, hands-on experiences, and nature. Green Meadow graduates are the Renaissance people who have deep and varied interests--they're scholars, artists, musicians, athletes, humanitarians.

my son attended the high school, when my husband and I, frustrated with his progress in the public schools, decided to enroll him. The school, its philosophy, its method of education, and its teachers transformed him. His thinking process, his knowledge, his performance was changed for life. He went on to acquire multiple degrees, and is now a physician in New York City. He would never have made it without the life changing effects of the environment of this school. and we are grateful.
