LePort Montessori School
Maria Montessori's vision of a 'Nido' or nest; they are peaceful, loving places where babies can explore and feel secure. Teachers speak in gentle tones, the daily pace is unhurried, and décor is understated and homelike. Each child in our care is an individual to be nurtured with affection and respect.
Infant Rooms; Each Infant environment has a maximum of 12 infants and 4 adults (a 3:1 ratio), one of whom is the Room Leader. Though the California Community Care Licensing allows a 4:1 ratio for infants, we realize that a 3:1 ratio is better for your child because it allows for more individual attention.
The Primary Classroom; From the child-sized furniture, to the self-correcting materials; from the child's ability to choose his work, to his choice of mats or table and work partners; from the plants and animals in the classroom, to the type of teachers we hire and their comportment: everything is tailored to help the child choose to learn and to concentrate on productive work and personal development.
Sensorial; The Montessori Sensorial Exercises are designed to build on this insight. They enable the preschool child to develop the capacity to be active-minded, to sustain concentration over long periods of time, and to exercise sharp powers of observation.
LePort Montessori preschool offers an authentic Montessori program for children ages 3 – 6 years (preschool & kindergarten), at seven convenient locations in Southern California.
Outdoor play time is enjoyed in designated play areas separate for toddler and primary age groups. From climbing structures to bikes and sandboxes, there are many outdoor play features for children to enjoy.
Language; A typical LePort Kindergarten student can read real books (not just sound out phonetic 3-letter-words), and pen full sentences in cursive handwriting (not just form a few print capital letters or trace his name.)
- Montessori child care, preschool and Kindergarten programs for children 3 months to 6 years old in a beautiful, nurturing environment.
- Life skills, social development, and reading, writing and arithmetic starting in preschool.

- LePort Montessori Preschool in Palos Verdes offers more than daycare for toddlers and preschoolers. We are an authentic Montessori school that will equip your child with Knowledge for Life - the essential skills and knowledge he needs to thrive as a joyous child today and as a successful adult tomorrow. Our preschool students are led by passionate, expert, caring teachers who have Bachelor’s degrees and specialized, year-long AMI Montessori training. In addition to preschool, we offer a Montessori based infant care program with specially prepared environments and a 3:1 infant to adult ratio. LePort Schools has 6 other Orange County campuses offering programs including infant care, Montessori preschool, kindergarten as well as elementary and junior high private school programs. The private school programs are guided by teachers with Bachelor’s degrees, deep subject matter expertise, and love for teaching. At LePort, we want to prepare our students in their whole being for the adventure of life, and our students’ families are our partners in that process. We enroll a family, not just a child. We actively encourage parents and other significant people to be involved in the LePort experience.
