School Notes

  • A high-quality education is one of the most important things that we can provide a child.
  • Exposure to a variety of topics, people, and adventures all contribute to a fulfilling school experience.
  • At New Discovery, the warm and secure environment offers a wide variety of programs.
  • A dedicated staff guides children in learning cooperation, respect for their environment, respect for the rights and feelings of others, and to develop problem solving skills that enhance creativity.
  • We accomplish this in an atmosphere where staff listen and accept feelings without judgment; children learn about appropriate boundaries and how to make positive behavior choices.
  • New Discovery provides a warm and secure setting in which young children can flourish with the loving care of dedicated teachers. Socialization is an important part of the New Discovery program. There is an emphasis upon sharing, caring, cooperation, manners, and respect for others. Children follow a daily routine that includes time for free play and for theme based activities fostering learning and skills development. Physical education is incorporated through musical movement indoors, outdoor play on the school playground, and Fitness and Movement sessions with Creative World Learning of New York. The following pages offer a description of the curriculum and daily routine for the different age groups
