Newburyport Montessori School

  • Welcome to the Newburyport Montessori School located in historic Newburyport, Massachusetts.
  • We offer preschool classes for children from 2 years 9 months through Kindergarten.
  • This year we celebrate the 35th year of Montessori Education in Newburyport and the 100th Anniversary of Montessori Education worldwide.
  • Founded in 2006, the NMS PA's primary goal is to get parents involved in the classroom and at school because greater parent involvement benefits both our children and the school.
  • The Newburyport Montessori School is dedicated to creating, nurturing and sustaining a community of peace, respect and diversity in honor of the child.
  • Montessori education is based on a profound respect for children and a deep understanding of child development in all areas: academic, emotional, physical and social.
  • As they develop skills in all areas of the curriculum, students in our program work independently, in small groups and one-on-one with a teacher.
  • In a three year cycle, they have the opportunity to proceed at their own pace with the support of staff and classmates.
  • As well as a strong academic program, we offer classes in Yoga, Art, Drama, Music, Spanish and Physical Education.
