Newburyport Montessori School

Welcome to the Newburyport Montessori School located in historic Newburyport, Massachusetts.
We offer preschool classes for children from 2 years 9 months through Kindergarten.
This year we celebrate the 35th year of Montessori Education in Newburyport and the 100th Anniversary of Montessori Education worldwide.
Founded in 2006, the NMS PA's primary goal is to get parents involved in the classroom and at school because greater parent involvement benefits both our children and the school.
The Newburyport Montessori School is dedicated to creating, nurturing and sustaining a community of peace, respect and diversity in honor of the child.
Montessori education is based on a profound respect for children and a deep understanding of child development in all areas: academic, emotional, physical and social.
As they develop skills in all areas of the curriculum, students in our program work independently, in small groups and one-on-one with a teacher.
In a three year cycle, they have the opportunity to proceed at their own pace with the support of staff and classmates.
As well as a strong academic program, we offer classes in Yoga, Art, Drama, Music, Spanish and Physical Education.
