Our son started at SMES in 2nd grade and just graduated from 8th grade. He is a better person for having gone to SMES. There have been bumps, challenges and big changes along the way, and obviously we went thru COVID, but in the end the full St Martin's Community is rich with love, care, and passion focused on building kids with character that can go out into the world and make it better. There is every kind of sports and activity you can imagine (they are always working to come up with new options) & it's very inclusive-for kids of all skill levels that want to have fun. The school is rigorous but not cut throat. The kids are pushed but aren't stressed 24/7. At Smes your kids is in a community that lets them be a kid and stumble and grow. I grew up in public school (which I loved!) but having seen one of our kids go thru a K-8th independent school education (and one not) there is a noticeable difference in their confidence and readiness to jump into high school!

Our family's experience with St Martin's Middle School has been exceptional. From the moment our son stepped through its doors as a sixth-grader until his final days in eighth grade, the school has been a nurturing environment that fostered his academic growth and personal development. One of St Martin's most remarkable aspects is its dedication to honoring each student's individuality. Our son was encouraged to explore his interests, express his unique personality, and embrace his strengths. The faculty and staff went above and beyond to create a supportive atmosphere where he felt valued and empowered. As our family prepares to transition to high school, we cannot help but feel nostalgic for the wonderful years we've spent at St Martin's

Both of my sons have profited well from attending this nurturing school from preschool through 8th grade. In middle school, they both played on all the sports teams because they could. The arts program is also strong for a small school. My boys were challenged in the classroom, and my older son is thriving in high school, well prepared socially and academically. My younger son is now off to high school, with friends for life from St. Martin's. I believe the virtues that are reinforced daily, the caring teachers and community feeling are the strengths of the school.

This school is without question an amazing and special place for children and for parents alike. It is filled with math, reading, the arts, language, science, technology and so much more. While academics are important, the most important is that this school is filled with kindness, faith, spirit, friendship and love. This is a place where the youngest to the oldest are known by name and loved by all.
