School Notes

  • Capstone Academy is a nurturing, innovative learning community dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential. From preschool through middle school, we provide a supportive, engaging environment where students are challenged academically, encouraged socially, and inspired creatively.
  • Our programs are designed to develop the whole child- intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially-while fostering a lifelong love of learning.
  • Preschool Program: At Capstone Academy, our preschool program emphasizes learning in the Optimal Learning Zone, where children remain engaged, curious, and motivated. We focus on building competence, autonomy, cooperation, and creativity through hands-on activities, exploration, and guided instruction. Preschoolers learn foundational concepts such as letters, numbers, colors, shapes, animal species, and counting. Daily activities include music, movement, storytelling, social play, manners, and self-care skills. Children also develop fine and gross motor skills through activities such as jumping, climbing, cutting, balancing, and more, all within a nurturing, structured environment.
  • Elementary Program: Our elementary program offers an accelerated curriculum for students who have completed our Junior Kindergarten program or transferred with a strong foundation. Incoming kindergarten students are expected to know letters and numbers in and out of sequence, count to 100, recognize sight words, form and read simple sentences, and understand basic addition. The first month of kindergarten is devoted to reviewing these skills before advancing to more complex reading, writing, mathematics, and science concepts. Our highly qualified elementary teachers hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, and administrators hold a Master's degree, bringing over 50 years of combined educational experience to guide and inspire students. All Capstone Academy educators are mandatory reporters of child abuse or neglect, in accordance with Florida law, ensuring a safe and protective environment for every child.
  • Middle School Program: Capstone Academy's middle school program continues the accelerated curriculum with a focus on academic excellence, personal growth, and college readiness. Students benefit from small class sizes, individualized instruction, and a variety of teaching methods to master lessons and projects while developing critical thinking and independent learning skills.
  • Dual Enrollment: Qualifying middle school students have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credits through our Dual Enrollment program, in partnership with the College of Central Florida. Students can complete up to two years of undergraduate coursework before graduating high school, accelerating their college education and gaining a head start toward an AA or AS degree. College Preparatory Class and PERT Test Our college preparatory class equips students to excel on the PERT (Postsecondary Education Readiness Test), which evaluates math, reading, and writing skills. This program builds confidence, academic skills, and readiness for college-level coursework.
  • Performing Arts: Capstone Academy middle school students can explore their creativity through performing arts, including speech, chorus, and guitar. These programs develop cognitive skills, creativity, discipline, collaboration, and self-expression, helping students build confidence and effective communication skills.
  • Athletics and Physical Education: Daily physical education and after-school basketball programs provide opportunities for fitness, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. Students develop strength, coordination, endurance, and healthy habits while building confidence and a sense of community. At Capstone Academy, we combine rigorous academics, arts, athletics, and character development to create a well-rounded educational experience. Our mission is to prepare students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they are ready for success in high school, college, and beyond.
