School Notes

  • Small class sizes allow teachers to provide individualized attention for each student. The students have opportunities for organic, hands-on learning experiences that a larger classroom setting would not offer.
  • Many of our graduates go on to attend some of New York City's best public and private high schools: such as Bronx Science, Stuyvesant, Bard High School and Early College, to name a few. Our alumni have pursued degrees in law, literature, and the medical field for their higher education. Our students have become pastors, wall-street executives, teachers and policemen. FCS provides a solid foundation for success!

FCS provides excellent education for students. I got this experience during my early school years which has helped shape the foundation of my education. A big thanks to all the teachers during the years i spent at FCS.

FCS was such a meaningful part of my life and growth. Growing up in a Christian home, the school felt like an extension of the values and faith that shaped me-and those lessons have stayed with me into adulthood. What I appreciate most is how faith wasn't treated as separate from academics or daily life. It was integrated into the classroom, the community, and the way we were encouraged to lead with integrity.Looking back, I can clearly see how FCS helped prepare me spiritually, academically, and personally. The discipline I built, the encouragement to pursue excellence, and the reminder to anchor my life in faith continue to influence my work and the way I show up in the world today. I'm deeply grateful for the teachers, mentors, and community who poured into me during those years.

My child started her school life in FCS. This is the only school she knows. While academic excellence is what we want to have for our child, her Christian life is the one that matters most to us and FCS is there to guide, support and help her grow in faith. The faculty and staff are wonderful people. Always helpful in any way they can. I love all the special subjects they offer. My child enjoys them all. My husband and I are thankful that we found a school that offers academic excellence with the integration of the Word of God in this chaotic world. May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless FCS with wonderful teachers, staff, and administration leaders.

I spent most of my professional life teaching at FCS and loved it. It's truly Christian, has a family atmosphere, and teachers, support staff, and parents are warm and caring. I loved the multicultural aspect and the fact that despite our many differences, what would normally be barriers were united in Christ. Academically, the school is excellent, striving to help each student discover his/her unique talents and interests, and then to aim towards fulfilling his/her full potential. I highly recommend FCS to any parent or student looking for a school with a Christ-like and family atmosphere, and solid academics.

Flushing Christian School does a great job integrating school with the word of God. It's important to teach our kids how important God is in our lives and in everything we do. God is the ultimate creator, and I love that my daughter is getting this solid foundation in her studies.

Flushing Christian School provides a combination of excellence in academics along with Christian discipleship. Each day starts with a bible time that focuses on the LORD and his word. The class size is just right and allows teachers to give individual attention to the kids and opportunity for participation in the lessons. The teachers are a unique combination of gifted individuals who care for their students, emphasize academic excellence, and love the students as much as they love the subjects they teach. Extra curriculum courses are available in Math, Music, Sports, and Robotics. One of the school`s slogans is to "be serious but have fun". That means that the children work hard in learning, doing their homeworks, and taking their tests. But at the same time, there is room for socialization, sports, interaction, and just being kids. As a parent of 2 children, I would highly recommend this one of a kind school.

Flushing Christian School is fully-accredited and chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. Our school is warm, nurturing, multi-cultural, and exhibits a family-like atmosphere. The small class sizes allow teachers to provide individualized attention for each student. The students have opportunities for organic, hands-on learning experiences that a larger classroom setting cannot offer. Students at Flushing Christian School are being instructed in both academic and cultural experiences. Students may participate in the band program or our volleyball and basketball teams-the FCS eagles. They may choose an elective, such as culinary class, American Sign Language, Hand Chimes, or Journalism. FCS is a wonderful place for students to learn and grow!
