Dr. Montessori observed that no two children learn at the same pace or necessarily in the same way.
She developed a method of teaching children individually and through small groups to let students excel to their highest potential in every area of the curriculum. The result is more motivated and enthusiastic students who typicallly work one to two years ahead of grade level.
When not working with a teacher, students work independantly, interdependently, or collaboratevely on multi-discipline projects that afford an abundance of hands-on learning experiences.
Our teachers role is not so much to teach but to direct, guide and mentor and to ask questions that challenge and inspire higher level thinking.

Both our children attend Hudson Country Montessori and we have absolutely loved our experience there. When looking for a school for our children, we toured many in the area and ultimately felt HCMS was the best fit for our family. We have seen our children thrive and grown tremendously since they started attending. All the teachers and staff are truly amazing and attentive. There is also a wonderful sense of community at Hudson and families are encouraged to play an active role. It can be hard to as parents to entrust the care of your children in others but we truly have never had to worry while our kids are at Hudson. They absolutely love it there and we know they are in the best hands.
