Lakeside Montessori is the best preschool in the Eastside, do not look any further. My daughter just completed a 2-year program in the Sage classroom led by Ms Bala and the school and its staff completely exceeded our expectations. The principal and owner of the school, Ms. Rene Thornton, is the second-generation of women in her family fully dedicated to bring the Montessori approach to the area. Rene's leadership and care for the school, its students and staff is outstanding; the best testament to this is the almost zero teacher turnover in this school, as they love being part of this family. The teachers are incredibly talented and knowledgeable on early education and the Montessori approach, and they all have years of experience. The facilities are pristine and safe; Rene is permanently implementing innovative ideas to facilitate all the processes from safe and fast drop-in/drop-off to effective parent communication using the latest technology. The school also offers a before and after school program that is absolutely flexible to accommodate every family's needs. Last but not least, the program is fabulous: My 5-year-old daughter learnt to count from 1 to 100, do simple math, all her ABCs, simple reading, and kept surprising me with her knowledge of geography (can name all continents and countries in the continents, all the planets in the solar system and much more!). Most important, she learnt to be compassionate, respect others and the environment. But the best testament of how great this place is, is that after she graduated from the program, my daughter kept asking about her school, her teacher and her friends and saying she wanted to be back!
