We first looked at Marshall School for our daughter because we were frustrated with her not being challenged in her public elementary school. Over the pandemic period, we saw how she thrived with one-on-one individualized attention at home and went from being behind in math and reading, too far beyond grade level. We realized the public school could not meet that need but saw that Marshall had much smaller classroom sizes and that teachers had the space and freedom to really get to know each student, meet them at their level, and personalize and shift their lessons to each unique individual. There is a great emphasis on exploring a child's gifts, interests, and personality and using that to help them get really excited about their education. When we toured the building, we were immediately struck by the sense of "magic" we felt walking in like this was truly someplace special where our daughter would grow and thrive. We were impressed with the facilities, the incredible view of Lake Superior, the longevity of staff and faculty, and the passion and commitment we saw from teachers when they spoke about their students and classes. We applied for financial aid and received a generous package, which made this an easier choice to invest in our daughter's future. We are so proud of this school, proud to have our daughter as a student, and truly looking forward to watching the path that Marshall sets her on. I 100% recommend Marshall to any family that values a good education and a strong early foundation.
