Northstar Academy, a private, nonprofit K-12 day school located in central Virginia, serves students with a broad range of disabilities.
It is a place where discovery lies in unlocking hidden potential.
Our curriculum is founded on the Virginia SOLs, with modifications provided to meet the learning needs of our students.
Our focus on literacy using the Lindamood-Bell Learning Process is achieving great results.
Our classrooms and students are equipped with state-of-the-art technology which allows simultaneous participation and engages all students in active learning.
In our effort to educate the whole child, we offer all inclusive extra-curricular activities including an array of clubs and sports opportunities, an amazing fine arts program, customized social skills instruction specifically designed for our student population and a strong transition program for upper school students which focuses on independent living skills, employment and/or post-secondary education.
