- SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
- Founded in 1954, Seton Catholic Preparatory is a Catholic faith community whose mission challenges students to achieve superior standards of educational excellence, leadership, and loving service to others. Seton Catholic is a four-year co-educational school whose ultimate task is to prepare students with the resources necessary for life-long learning within the framework of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church. The school was named for Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton who opened the first parochial school in America and founded the Sisters of Charity. These Sisters have helped staff the school throughout its history. The faculty and staff of Seton Catholic Preparatory facilitate student's religious formation; academic progress; social, cultural, physical and moral development, while supporting parents as primary educators. Serving over 500 students, 50 teachers and 5 counselors have an average of more than 15 years' experience. One teacher holds a doctoral degree. Nine staff members are Seton Catholic alumni. Seton Catholic continues its strong affiliation with the Sisters of Charity by offering dual enrollment with Seton Hill University.
- ENROLLMENT / SERVICE AREA

The students attending Seton Catholic come from Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian, Native American and African-American origins. Seton students are from low, middle and high income levels. The average class size is 21. Seton Catholic does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic or other school-administered programs.
- CURRICULUM
- The curriculum includes daily classes in religious education, with honors and Advanced Placement courses in most departments. Typically, about 99% of Seton Catholic Prep's graduates go on to college. Honors courses are offered in English, math, science, social studies, and world languages. Advanced Placement courses are available in English, social studies, fine arts, math, science and world languages. Seton also offers dual enrollment with Seton Hill University for some of its courses.
- THE ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER (ARC)
- Seton Catholic Preparatory offers accommodations to eligible students with exceptionalities through the ARC department. Although we follow best practices in developing a Student Support Plan (SSP), we do not provide "free and appropriate public education (F.A.P.E)" as guaranteed by law in a public school. The procedural safeguards that are provided to students with exceptionalities through IDEA do not apply. The ARC Department uses a tiered approach in providing classroom accommodations, interventions, and/or specialized learning environments. Student Support Plans are created per provided documentation and demonstrated need. Documentation includes but is not limited to: an IEP or 504 plan from their previous school, Student Support Plan from their previous school, or psychoeducational testing from a school district or private doctor. ARC courses utilize differentiated instruction and meet all the standards of Seton curriculum.
