School Notes
- At SPS we believe that all children grow and develop at different rates through different learning styles. Children are given the opportunity to explore, create, and problem solve with materials that are developmentally appropriate.
- We offer a challenging, balanced curriculum that encourages exploration and discovery. Our classrooms are student-centered and focused on developing critical thinking skills. Teachers use the workshop model to create collaboration and individualized instruction.
- Preschool classroom activities are based on play and task-learning where children are taught basic concepts through the use of games, puzzles, manipulatives, art, and other hands-on experiences.
- Our small class sizes allow our teachers to customize instruction in order to meet the diverse needs of our learners.
- SPS incorporates Spanish, Chapel, Christian Education, PE, Art, Music, Storytelling, Library and playground time into class schedules.

School Reviews
5 Our family has been so happy at SPS. From the moment I first walked in, I knew it was a special place. My kids have met their favorite friends and I have met some amazing parents who have become my dear companions as well. For my kids, I love how warm and caring all their teachers are. You cannot walk down the hall without a chorus of "hellos" and "how are you's". Everyone knows my kids' names. I love how the classes have 30 minutes of recess every day, as well as amazing specials worked into the day such as Spanish, Storytelling Theater, Art, Music, Library, PE and Chapel. When school releases my kids don't want to go home; they want to go to the playground and continue playing with their SPS friends! As a parent, I am very pleased with the age-appropriate curriculum. There is adequate time for free and imaginative play, as well as learning in a fun and active way. I love being able to go in and read to my kids' classes. I enjoy the numerous volunteer activities such as Chick-Fil-A lunch day, Scholastic Book Fair and Joy of Giving that allow me to be active at the school and meet other parents. Finally, I look forward to the school-wide events that bring us together as a community: Doughnuts with Dads, Thanksgiving Potluck, Grandparents' Lunch, Spring Sharing and Mother's Tea. Our family is looking forward to many more happy years at SPS! - Posted by Parent - sarah |
