We are one community, Catholic and universal, having our roots in the salvific acts of God as witnessed in the Old and New Testaments.
We share our spirit and our gifts with each other, as an expression of our faith and heritage.
We build up the Body of Christ, the Catholic Church, by being good stewards of the blessings we have graciously received from God.
We take part in the mission of evangelization that is part of the baptismal call of each Christian as we share our faith and reach out to those of other beliefs.
St. Luke Catholic School is recognized as both an A-School with a Four Star Rating from the Indiana Department of Education.

School Notes

High School and Heaven
St. Luke Catholic School exists to help prepare students for high school and Heaven.  This is accomplished through a rigorous academic curriculum that is focused on helping each student meet their academic potential.  Starting in 1st grade students will be placed in small groups in both mathematics and in reading according to the individual needs of the student.  These are flexible groups, which allow students to move between groups as necessary.  Our rigorous academic program has prepared students to be some of the most successful high school students throughout the city.  We consistently hear from high schools that the St. Luke Catholic School students were prepared above and beyond their peers.

Our Catholic Identity is reflected in everything we do.  The school day begins and ends with prayer with several more prayer opportunities throughout the day.  Students will participate in Mass twice a week with the entire school community.  Additionally, students will receive age-appropriate religious instruction in the classroom.  Each year students will participate in a grade-level retreat or day of reflection or service.  These special times allow students the opportunity to put into practice what they have been learning in the religion classes.

Progressively Traditional
St. Luke Catholic School considers itself to be both "progressive" and "traditional'.  Our students participate in an academic program that brings together the best of contemporary educational practices with those time-tested methods that most other schools have dropped altogether.

All students participate in computer technology classes.  Our students are assigned an iPad beginning in 5th grade that they use for a lot of their academic work.  We teach students to write in cursive beginning in 1st grade.  Latin instruction begins in 3rd grade in an effort to help students develop a stronger English vocabulary.

Special Area Classes
In addition to the academic curriculum, students will also participate in several special area classes designed to provide students with a well-round and complete education.  These special area classes include:
  • Physical Education
  • Music Instruction - General Music (K-8), Strings (3-8), Band (5-8)
  • Art
  • Computer Technology
  • Latin (3-5)
  • Middle School World Languages:  Latin & Spanish
Affordable
St. Luke Catholic School offers one of the lowest tuition rates in the city.  All families are invited to participate in our financial aid programs including the Indiana Choice Scholarship as well as our local SGO with monies donated to the school.  Parish families are eligible to receive multi-child discounts as well as parishioner discounts.
