School Notes

  • Sterling Academy solidly prepares students for their next step in life -- whether it is college or career -- by offering a high-quality curriculum to provide solid learning, accompanied by one-on-one assistance from teachers. Students choose their study plan, whether they want to take all courses simultaneously, or take a few at a time, and study at their own pace within the plan. Students can move more quickly on the material they understand and get done sooner; they can spend more time on the material they have difficulty with, taking the time needed to fully understand the material before moving on to more difficult subject matter. Full-time students are expected to study about 30 hours per week, just as they would need to in a bricks-and-mortar school, but at Sterling Academy, students can apportion the 30 weekly hours any way that's suitable for their schedule. We also offer individual courses and credit recovery courses that students can take with us and transfer back to their local school. We are accredited by Cognia/AdvancED/SACS, so transferring credits is easy. This is particularly useful for students who want to take courses that their local school doesn't have, yet we offer, such as Chinese or Latin, engineering, digital arts, or computer programming. We offer school year-round. Students may start any day of the year. You can talk to our Enrollment Counselor to learn more, by calling 954-859-2081. You can also email her at enrollment@sterling.academy. Or, to learn more about our courses, our teachers, and our school in general, you can visit our website.
