The Summit Academy, located in Herman, Butler County, Pennsylvania, (about one hour north of the city of Pittsburgh) is a private, residential school for delinquent young men ages 14-18 and serving grades 9-12.
Under the same dedicated management as The Academy, The Summit Academy strives to rehabilitate its, currently, 300 students, who hail from all of Pennsylvania as well as Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware and Washington, DC, through education, industrial trades' training, counseling, and athletics.
Located on a beautiful 125-acre campus, facilities include the main academic building, dormitory, gymnasium, library, athletic fields, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, and a swimming pool.
We expect only the best from our students at the Summit Academy; this is why we treat them like gentlemen rather than juvenile delinquents.
With this mindset, our students are required to wear the proper school uniform, which, for most of the year, includes an oxford shirt, tie, khaki pants, belt and loafers.
Students attend classes daily and counseling sessions, athletic practices, and industrial trades training in the evening.
