Syracuse Hebrew Day School

As a community day school, the Syracuse Hebrew Day School represents “klal Israel,” the unity of the Jewish people amid the diversity of Jewish life.
The school, governed by the Torah and the traditions of Judaism, develops within its students an appreciation of their rich dual heritage as Jews and Americans.
The Day School offers Jewish children a program of intensive general and Jewish studies from kindergarten through sixth grade.
The school is committed to excellence in all of its curricular and co-curricular programs.
Our philosophy of education endeavors to nurture the uniqueness and individuality of each child and thereby to help all children reach their full potential.
In our general studies program, we strive to present more than the mandated curriculum, as well as to enrich the school day with music, art, information technology and physical education.
Our Judaic program sets us apart from other schools in the area, both public and private.
We aim to help our students acquire the tools and skills necessary to be functional Jews through an understanding of our classical texts and history.
We seek to foster a love for the state of Israel, encourage the practice of Jewish traditions, and develop sensitivity to and understanding of the variety of Jewish practices.
