Our son joined MPH this year as a first-grader. He previously attended one of the highest-rated local elementary schools for kindergarten. His teacher was wonderful but his class was quite large and he quickly became frustrated by the Common Core curriculum (especially math). At MPH, his class is half the size and the curriculum is designed for the way young children learn. They have more daily movement (phys ed and outdoor time every day) and the focus on kindness, empathy, and overall SEL has a huge impact in how the kids interact with one another. No detail is overlooked - the classrooms (for lower school) have ambient lighting, seating options, plenty of fidgets, and other tools to support young learners. Everyone our son interacts with - from his teachers, the school nurse, culinary staff, and after-school staff knows him by name and as an individual. It's been a game-changer for him and we're so grateful that he's here. We love MPH.
