Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools

Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #1 - At the Academy of the New Church - an accredited, private, 9th through 12th grade Girls School and Boys School - we prepare students for a principled and useful life in both the natural and spiritual worlds. Through challenging academics and full extracurricular participation, our students enjoy many opportunities to find their balance.
Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #2 - Every day the entire school meets in the chapel for a brief presentation by our pastoral staff or a visiting minister. It is a chance for quiet reflection on some aspect of life that can be better understood and improved. The chapel message often becomes a topic of discussion in the classroom that day.
Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #3 - At ANC, the performing arts program is not only for theater students. Over 50% of the school is involved in each of our two main-stage productions each year. While performing on stage is popular, there are also many opportunities to participate back-stage in one of our student-led technical theater crews.
Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #4 - Small class size and a strong sense of community among students and teachers ensure that all students get the answers and support they need, and a careful balance of single-gender and coeducational classes provides the right environment for learning.
Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #5 - Our no-cut athletic program allows every student to enjoy healthy competition. We offer fourteen sports at ANC, with everything from lacrosse to ice hockey. Our coaches use the competitive environment as a classroom to teach self-discipline, team-building and true sportsmanship.
Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #6 - Delta Mu, our student-led service club, organizes activities throughout the year, and the annual service trip to the Poconos to volunteer at a Salvation Army camp is always a highlight of the year.
Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #7 - Our dormitories-Stuart Hall for the boys and Glenn Hall for the girls-are run by faculty house parents aided by residential assistants college-age and older. Dormitory staff work hard to provide student residents with a safe, structured, and caring environment that incorporates the spiritual values of our school.
Academy Of The New Church Secondary Schools Photo #8 - The Dance Team at ANC welcomes dancers of any level to the stage, teaching both foundational skills and more challenging choreography. Students experience a full array of movement techniques and styles as they practice jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, and modern dance each week.
The Academy of the New Church Girls School and Boys School are separate schools that share faculty, facilities and certain classes.
We have the best of both worlds. Our careful combination of single gender and coeducational courses allows us to tailor learning specifically to each gender, and at the same time provide opportunities for girls and boys to collaborate with one another in the academic sphere and in extracurricular and social activities.
The Academy of the New Church is a religious institution. Our curriculum is inspired by the teachings for the New Church. Through classroom instruction and an atmosphere of spiritual conviction, we challenge students to discover their own sense of purpose.
