Kirk O' The Valley School

At Kirk O' The Valley School, we believe children are best prepared for life's journey when they embrace their own and others' individuality; gain a genuine love of learning; acquire knowledge and the ability to express what they know; and discover their meaningful place in the world.
Our balanced, nurturing approach to educating children, a Kirk hallmark since 1961, helps your child gain the confidence to be successful not just in school, but in life itself.
At Kirk O' The Valley School, ours is a child-centered philosophy with a "touch of realism." While our curriculum and assessment program align with California state guidelines, we maintain the flexibility to make sure that all children are successful learners.
We do not try to make kids fit a curriculum; our children are viewed, and valued, as individuals.

Kirk School in Reseda has been an absolute treasure for our family. Both of my daughters attended from kindergarten through 5th grade, and we could not be more grateful for the experience they've had. My oldest is now in 7th grade and thriving in middle school - and I have no doubt that her strong academic foundation and confidence were built at Kirk. My youngest is now in 5th grade and enjoying every moment of her final year there. From the moment we stepped onto the Kirk campus, we felt welcomed. It started with the incredible Kindergarten class - a warm, nurturing environment with outstanding teachers - and that same excellence continued all the way through 5th grade. The staff, from the front office to the facilities team, always greeted us with a smile and made the school feel like a second home. Even during the toughest times, like the pandemic, Kirk's leadership stood out. They stayed one step ahead with thoughtful planning, clear communication, effective safety protocols, and seamless transitions to at-home learning. Their commitment to keeping students, families, and staff safe and supported never wavered. Kirk didn't just adapt - they thrived. The school's close-knit community is something truly special. Families became lifelong friends, and the staff felt more like extended family. The love and dedication from everyone at Kirk created an environment where kids felt safe, challenged, and inspired. My daughters have excelled academically and socially, and that's a direct reflection of the support and care they received here. Kirk isn't just about academics - they offer a rich array of programs and experiences: unforgettable concerts and plays, an engaging science fair, amazing field trips, and fun enrichment opportunities. Some of our favorite memories include robot-building projects, the Wax Museum, 5th grade Rock Band, Pali Camp, and the remarkable Kindergarten Circus (a must-see!). If I could sum up Kirk in one word, it would be unforgettable. The memories, the friendships, the learning - all of it has left a lasting impact on our family. We often joke that the only thing missing is a middle school, because if there were, we'd never leave. My youngest is almost ready to move on, but Kirk will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts.

My child attended Kirk from Kindergarten through 5th grade. From the moment we stepped on campus for our tour, we were welcomed warmly by the incredible director, Hillary Felder. She went above and beyond to answer our questions and explained not only Kindergarten's curriculum to us, but touched on each grade and all the enrichment that is offered. There are many school functions, concerts, and events that allow parents to participate in the community. Our daughter has thrived academically as well as socially and we couldn't have asked for a more solid foundation for her to move through middle school. The teachers are all so kind and truly care about each child as individuals. We wish Kirk went up to high school! Thank you to everyone at Kirk for making our child feel confident and honored as an individual. You are truly a gem!

AWESOME! I drive from Simi Valley to Kirk O'' The Valley School for my two preschool students, ages 2 and 3 1/2. We love the community feel at Kirk and the fact that Spanish, Music, Library and Art are included in the tuition plus a wide variety of after-school enrichment classes as well. I can recommend Kirk O'' The Valley with 5 stars to anyone interested. My older children, ages 10 and 12 also attend their awesome summer camp, KKamp. Educational adventures are their goal, getting my kids away from video games and T.V. Camping and Nature themed activities that keep all my children's interest combined with caring, responsible, qualified teachers make Kirk School a winner!

By far one of the best elementary schools in the valley. Truly follow the motto that childhood is journey. The school , its teachers , staff is so accessible and always open to parents to address any kind of issues , not that we had any in all 7 years my son was there. Has Available music, art, sports and tons of extracurricular activities. It has a great after school program for working parents . We highly recommend this school

My son is in PK at Kirk and we could not be happier. He is learning Spanish, music, art, computers, has a reading readiness expert helping him. The teachers are great and really care. Kirk is a real community where the students are nurtured and given focus as individuals, where the teachers and administrators know every child and where the parents and families are truly welcomed. We are so grateful for Kirk.
