School Notes

  • Veritas is the Latin word for "truth", and as a Classical Christian School, our mission is to train children in the "truth" for the glory of God.
  • Veritas Academy equips students with the tools of learning in order for them to develop the ability to think in a disciplined and discerning manner.
  • Veritas Academy utilizes the classical model of education known as the Trivium.  The Trivium consists of three stages of learning: Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric.  This model is designed to teach students how to learn by studying the fundamental rules of each subject, by understanding the ordered relationship of these subjects, and by articulating these relationships in a coherent and persuasive manner.
  • Veritas Academy supports the family in accomplishing the covenantal task of training and educating children.  This task cannot be abdicated by parents nor usurped by an educational institution.  Veritas Academy is an adjunct servant to the family and does not replace them in their work.
  • Veritas Academy believes that the task of education is the formation of godly character in the lives of its students.  Knowledge is taught not only for its academic value but for the larger purpose of training wisdom and understanding.  Instilling virtue is a component in character formation and is central to the task of education.
