Founded in the mid-1800s, Saint Mary School was the first school founded by the Sisters of Mercy in New Jersey.
St. Mary's has served the Bordentown community through three centuries. In the fall of 2000, the sisters took leave of the school, but the Mercy tradition of a loving and caring environment lives on through the work of its lay staff.
The building that now serves St. Mary School was erected in 1888 and entered the new millenium under the spiritual guidance of Reverand Father Michael Burns and the academic guidance of principal, Mrs. MaryEllen Moss.

As a Catholic School in the Diocese of Trenton, St. Mary's is

our students to see themselves as members of God's family. St. Mary
School believes that every child can make a difference and calls
its students to actively participate in their church, school, and
community. The mission of Saint Mary School is a continuation of
the tradition of excellence in education, a devotion to the spirit
of Mercy, and a focus on the opportunities that lie ahead.
