Los Altos Christian is an absolute hidden gem. It challenges students deeply in all subjects and creatively supports students who might have a learning difference (our son has dyslexia). Our experience with the teachers and school leadership has been outstanding. It is such a gift to be a part of a smaller school community where families really support each other through parenthood, academic growth and athletics.

I cannot speak highly enough of Los Altos Christian School and the difference it has made in our family.Both of our children transferred to LACS in the middle of the school year, and we saw a positive difference very quickly. One of our children needed significant learning support after several difficult academic years, including the impact of remote learning during the pandemic. Despite receiving support through an IEP in public school, he had fallen behind academically and lost much of his confidence.When he joined the Learning Support Program at LACS, the change was remarkable. The difference between his experience before and after coming to LACS felt like night and day. With smaller classes, individualized support, encouragement, and teachers who truly took the time to understand how he learned, we began seeing progress almost immediately. His confidence grew, his academics improved dramatically, and despite transferring in the middle of the school year, he was able to finish that first year strong.By the time he graduated from LACS, the child who had once struggled so much academically had become a confident and successful student. He graduated with multiple awards, an achievement certificate, and a scholarship. Seeing how far he had come was incredibly meaningful to our family and showed us what can happen when a child receives the right support, encouragement, and opportunities.Our other child came to LACS with very different academic needs. He had been an above-average student in public school before the pandemic and is naturally a high achiever. LACS helped him regain his academic momentum and continue to thrive academically, making the Principal''s Honor Roll-the school''s highest academic recognition for students earning a 4.0 or above-multiple times, along with receiving several other academic awards and recognitions. Seeing him achieve so much and regain his confidence has been incredibly encouraging for our whole family.One of the things I appreciate most about LACS is that it can be a wonderful environment for different kinds of learners. Our two children had very different academic needs, yet both were able to grow and succeed. Whether a student needs additional learning support or is a high-achieving student ready for greater challenges, our experience has been that the teachers take the time to know each child individually and help them reach their potential.The teachers, faculty, and staff genuinely care about each child and family. Whenever we have brought forward a concern or request, we have felt heard and taken seriously. The faculty and staff have gone above and beyond to support not only our children but our entire family.LACS has also given our children so much more than academics. They have had opportunities to participate in music, leadership, sports, and many extracurricular activities, build wonderful and lasting friendships, and experience amazing field trips and educational travel, including Washington, D.C., and the East Coast. There are so many opportunities for students to discover their interests, develop their gifts, try new things, and become involved in their school community.We have also really enjoyed the wonderful school and community events throughout the year. LACS creates many opportunities for families to be involved and get to know one another. Parents have many opportunities to volunteer and chaperone field trips, which has allowed us to be part of some of our children''s experiences and create special memories alongside them. The sense of community among students, parents, teachers, and staff is something we truly value.Most importantly for our family, LACS is Christ-centered. As a Christian parent, I deeply value a school where faith is not simply another subject but is woven into the students'' education, relationships, character development, and everyday life. At the same time, families from different backgrounds are welcomed, which contributes to the warm and caring community we have experienced.Choosing LACS has been one of the best educational decisions we have made for our children, and we only wish we had made the move sooner. LACS has truly been such a blessing to our family.I am incredibly grateful for the teachers, staff, programs, opportunities, friendships, and loving Christian community that have helped both of our children grow academically, personally, and spiritually.I wholeheartedly recommend Los Altos Christian School to families looking for strong academics, individualized attention, wonderful opportunities for children and families to get involved, a caring community, and a Christ-centered education.

We have two children at Los Altos Christian School, and our experience has been wonderful overall. What we value most about LACS is the balance it provides between strong academics and spiritual and personal development. In the high-pressure Bay Area environment, it is surprisingly rare to find a school that truly recognizes the importance of educating the whole child-not just academically, but also emotionally, socially, and spiritually.LACS has created an environment where our children are encouraged to grow as individuals while receiving a solid academic education grounded in Christian values. We have also been very impressed by how responsive and supportive the school has been. They have listened carefully to our concerns as parents, as well as to our children, and have consistently made us feel heard, validated, and encouraged.

My son was born during the COVID era so I was always afraid that he would have trouble maintaining friends and socializing with his peers. I wanted a school that would understand my concerns. I looked for months at different schools and we decided on LACS. Best decision ever. My son thrived so much it brought me to tears seeing him perform and watching him grow in a supporting community. We love LACS and we can never thank the teachers, staff and community enough.

LACS has been great for my daughter. The staff and faculty are loving and care about the development of my child as a person as well as academics.

We feel so blessed to have found Los Altos Christian School (LACS) for our child. It's a Christ-centered community where teachers truly care about every student - not just academically, but also spiritually and emotionally. Because of the smaller class size, every child receives individual attention and support.The math program is particularly impressive - students can progress at their own pace, moving up a level when they're ready or receiving extra support when needed. This flexibility keeps learning both challenging and encouraging.What stands out the most is the Christ-like love and character reflected by the teachers. They model patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control in everyday interactions, helping students grow not only in knowledge but also in faith and values.

LACS is one of the best schools in the Bay Area. We sent both of our girls there. The older one has dyslexia and was behind in her reading while in public school. LACS had incredible flexibility to put her into the Learning Assistance Department (LAD) program in English while keeping her in the regular classes for math and the rest of the curriculum. LACS Principle, Ms. Hibbert, personally worked with her in the mornings on her reading and writing skills. Over the course of 2 years, LACS teachers were able to advance her reading and writing skills to move her over to the regular program for all subjects. It's quite remarkable, and we are eternally grateful to the school. One thing that sets LACS apart is that their teachers are highly trained and certified in Slingerland, Orton-Gillingham, or Wilson Reading Systems. Our younger daughter was extremely shy when she came to LACS K-grade. We were very worried. Ms. Taylor was able to get her to open up and become comfortable with class participation. It was a big relief to us, as parents, to see our daughter blossom at LACS over the course of several years. Teachers at LACS are very caring and supportive, all the while making sure that the students are learning and advancing their skills. Tuition is very reasonable and lower than in other private schools. As parents, we appreciate the schools' efforts to keep the tuition low and focus on things that matter: education and a supportive environment for the children. There are both Christian and non-Christian kids at the school. If you are not Christian, it's not a problem at all. The education philosophy is traditional, probably what you experienced when you were kids. We really appreciated this, as we wanted our kids to value hard work, integrity, respect, and the drive to succeed, all the while being in a 100% supportive environment. And they have a science teacher with a biology PhD from UCSF and a postdoc from Stanford! I would wholeheartedly recommend this school to anyone. We went through 4 schools in the Bay Area: public, charter and private. LACS is by far the best.
