I was so impressed when I visited this school but they offer little protection for students and lie to you about what's really going on. Drugs in the dorms, bullying among the student body, breach of security in dorms, poor protocol and standards for issues, and lying of staff members. Blessed day when I took my child home from there and wish I had known some of the real negatives while my child attended. They talk a good game. Protect your loved one; keep looking.

I graduated in 2020 and I spent my junior and senior years attending Oak Hill Academy. I was active in many clubs and in the leadership program as well as a national honor society student. To any parent considering a boarding high school for their child, I believe that Oak Hill is the best option. Oak Hill`s structured environment helps students become responsible young adults. Their focus on community really helps students understand the importance of the people around them. Since I`ve graduated from Oak Hill I`ve enrolled in Roanoke college and felt very prepared for the workload at college. Currently, I am interning at Oak Hill and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that have been given and are continued to be given to me.

Some most defining moment in my HS education go back to OHA. I am now 63 years old, yet remember my time there as powerful, enlightening and life changing. I will always be grateful to OHA's faculty and leadership staff for the opportunity to grow and become that person once hiding inside me. I hope anyone considers OHA for their children understands the depth of dedication from all OHA staff to help develop your children into refined capable leaders of our society.

As a parent, I have been very impressed with the dedication with the staff and how hard they work to ensure student success. We are from an upper middle class family and found that our son fit in very well with the other students. He has a lot of nice friends and generally enjoys his time there. They are very strict when it come to behavior and drugs. This is also a plus for us knowing that he is (relatively safe) from temptations. They do have an over-the-top basketball program which provides a lot of excitement at the school. However, our son does not play basketball and we have found that the basketball does not get in the way of their focus on the achievement of their students.
